Champions League, Nimir Abdel-Aziz MVP of the preliminary stages

Nimir Abdel-Aziz is the MVP of the preliminary phase of the 2021 CEV Champions League. The opposite spiker of Itas Trentino was recognized with the palm of the "best performing player" of the first two rounds of the top continental trophy by the European Confederation itself, which in the last few hours published the news on the official website (details on www.cev.eu/News.aspx?NewsID=31263&ID=5).
The stetement affirms that the giallo-blù number fourteen was chosen among many athletes claiming the title thanks to very important numbers scored during the four games played in this phase of the tournament: two in Trento (on 29 September against London, the 1 October against Novi Sad) and two in Amriswil (on 28 October with Dinamo Moscow, on 29 against the hosts). Nimir was the second best scorer in a single game (23 points against the Russians, only Zass did better than him with 24 points) and the eighth best scorer overall with 49 winning balls, but his contribution was also important in fundamentals such as block and serivce.
Trentino Itas will return to the field in 2021 CEV Champions League between 1st and 3rd December next for the inaugural concentration of the MainPhase Pool E, which will be played in Trento. The CEV has already drawn up the calendar of the six matches (two for each day) that will be played at the BLM Group Arena, but the program is still provisional as regards the playing times (yet to be formalized). However, the giallo-blù team is already sure of facing the Russians of Novosibirsk on Tuesday, the Czechs of Karlovarsko on Wednesday and the Germans of Friedrichshafen on Thursday.
