Sir Safety Conad Perugia-Itas Trentino 3-0, the Coppa Italia Semifinal match report

The match report. The starting six don’t show any particular news: Angelo Lorenzetti relies on Giannelli at service, Nimir as opposite spiker, Michieletto and Lucarelli spikers, Lisinac and Podrascanin as middle blockers, Rossini libero. Sir Safety Conad responds with Travica at service, Ter Horst as opposite spiker, Leon and Plotnytskyi as spikers, Ricci and Solé as middle blocker, Colaci libero. It’s Perugia that has the best impact on the match; thanks to the serves of Leon (also two aces), the Umbrians goes on 5-8 and then 9-13 (another two serves, this time of Plotnytskyi), after Lucarelli tried to reduce the gap in attack. The Brazilian doesn’t give up and with a couple of good serves succeeds in reducing the gap (12-14). The tie arrives at 16-16 with a block of Podrascanin on Leon, but Sir Safety Conad does better during the breakpoint phase and restarts again with rhythm (17-19, 19-23) with a block of Russo and with the great realization capacity of the Caribbean spiker. The final of the set arrives already on 19-25 with a block of Solé on Lisinac.
In the second set, Itas Trentino pays the blow and suffers the service of Plotnytskyi (0-3) and then the attacks of Leon (1-7), without offering any reaction. Perugia does great at blocking, Nimir and teammates lose control (5-10, 6-14), also struggling to be incisive in attack in the phase of change ball. In the compromised partial, there is still room for the show of Leon, who continually scores (11-23), leaving helpless the gialloblù receivers. For the Umbrians, the 2-0 arrives already on 14-25.
The pace doesn’t seem to change in the third set; on 2-4 Lorenzetti changes Michieletto with Kooy, but Trento continues to suffer the opponent phase break. Perugia, with Solé and Leon, widens the gap (6-10, ace of the Perugian number 9). In the central phase of the set, the service of Plotnytskyi creates further gap (11-16), also because it’s Russo who scores at the net. The final arrives quickly with Leon who does great at service; the positive streak of the gialloblù ends at sixteen wins with the 17-25 final.
