Nimir after Milan: "Difficult game but we will be ready for the next matches"

Returning to Trento late Wednesday evening after the negative trip to Milan, Itas Trentino resumed training this afternoon at the BLM Group Arena. The individual weight and technique session directed by the coaching staff has actually opened the mini two-day period in which the team will prepare the last regular season match, Saturday night at home against Ravenna, and the trip to Germany the following week, which will complete the second round of Pool E of 2021 CEV Champions League.
Nimir Abdel-Aziz is among the best of the giallo-blù players at Allianz Cloud, and he was once again the best scorer on the pitch of the Club with which he had played the last three previous seasons.
"It was nice to return to Milan as an opponent, or rather: it was pleasant until the kick-off, then objectively during the match things did not go well for my team and therefore I cannot be happy even if it was good to see many people with whom I shared three years of my career and to play again in a beautiful building like PalaLido - explained the Dutchman, who will turn twenty-nine on Friday - . Allianz certainly played a good game, defending a lot, but for our part we were unable to turn the page after Saturday's defeat against Perugia in the Coppa Italia and wash away the negative thoughts resulting from that heavy knockout. Precisely for this reason I say that having already conquered third place for more than ten days did not affect the performance offered on Wednesday evening. We wanted to redeem ourselves but we didn't succeed ”.
"Saturday with Ravenna we want to be ready again for the the victory - he continued -; we need to play good volleyball again to positively approach the Champions League three days in Friedrichshafen. We want to pass the round and qualify for the quarter-finals of the event”.
