Cavuto: “In Trento I will always have an additional incentive to make a good impression”

The first interview as a player of di Trentino Volley to Oreste Cavuto, twenty-five-year-old spiker from Abruzzo grown in the yellow-blue nursey. His return was made official today.

“Thank you, I’m still young but I return to Trento with bigger experience comparing to what I had when I left it two years ago to learn the ropes in Ravenna. For me, it’s a great emotion to wear again the jersey of a Company that gave me a lot; I feel obliged to try to give back all the things that I received from this Club and its audience, always very affectionate towards me”
Your bond with Trentino has never been dissolved, neither in the latest two seasons that saw you playing far from here…
“My relationship with the Company, the City, and the audience has never been dissolved, even when I was in Romagna or Cisterna di Latina. Obviously, it wasn’t like being here, but from a volleyball point of view, I was born in Trento and, even more so, I will always fight because Trentino Volley can obtain the best possible results. It’s not a set phrase for me to affirm that here I will always have an additional incentive to make a good impression”.
What do you think you can give to Trentino Volley in the next season, in which the team is going to be rich in young and Italian elements, especially in place 4?
“I think I can offer a contribution of an important experience, the one matured with the Consar and the Top Volley jersey in the latest two seasons of SuperLega. From a purely technical point of view, then, I hope to give my contribution especially in attack, where there could maybe be more needs”.
What did the participation of the recent VNL offer you?
“In Rimini, I was one of the oldest players of the Italian group, a sort of veteran, just to make you understand how young our team was. We did a good run, especially because we often played against formations that will face the Olympics with the same team with which they faced us. It was a month full of matches no stop that makes us grow from all the points of view, first and foremost from a technical and physical point of view”.
In Trento you will find again Angelo Lorenzetti, the coach who made you debuted in the first team, making you find more and more space on the field…
“Making the process in the Youth Sector was important and allowed me to win many Italian titles as well, but arriving in SuperLega manages to make you switch gears. I passed two fantastic years with Angelo, in which we succeeded in winning important international titles like the World Championship per Club and the CEV Cup. My goal is to enrich again the Company palmares; the opponents are strengthened, the championship became even more competitive but I’m sure that Trentino Volley will have a say like every year”.
In the precedent seasons in the first team you had always worn the number 5; coming back to Trento you have decided to left it to Alessandro Michieletto. A great gesture that already shows a promising team spirit?
“Absolutely yes, even if I must say that I've never been a superstitious or habitual type when it comes to jersey numbers. I gladly left it to him because I know how much he cares about it and because that shirt has always accompanied him throughout his career. I'll take the 7; the important thing is to see my name on a Trentino Volley jersey”.
