SuperLega, on Sunday the big match of the third round

After the break of the Final Four of Del Monte® Super Cup 2021, at the weekend the SuperLega Credem Banca 2021/22 returns protagonist with the third round of regular season. Itas Trentino is the protagonist of the most awaited match: on Sunday 31 October, Cucine Lube Civitanova (Champion of Italy) will arrive at the BLM Group Arena. The kickoff is at 18: live on RAI Sport +, Radio Dolomiti, and live streaming on OTT Volleyball World Tv.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO After surprisingly winning the first title of the season 2021/22, the yellow-blue formation returns to the Italian championship with renewed enthusiasm, further trust in its means, and with the goal of defending the record conquered in the first two rounds, thanks to the double success by 3 points with Verona and Vibo Valentia.
“This is going to be an important and difficult match regardless of the result in the previous weekend in Civitanova: now our opponent will arrive in Trento even more ready and motivated – explained the coach of Itas Trentino Angelo Lorenzetti - . We arrived from a well-done week of trainings and with the right attitude, so I’m confident that we will face the appointment with the right spirit: the one that we need to face a great formation like Lube and to continue to move up in the ranking.”
The coach should confirm the line up with all three spikers on the field that has been very efficient in the latest three matches. The one on Sunday is the fifth official appointment of Trentino Volley season, the 896° ever, and sees the yellow-blue hunting for the 327° home success, the 373° ever in regular season. On this occasion, captain Matey Kaziyski collects his 339^ attendance with the yellow-blue Club, reaching Andrea Bari at the third place of the record: ahead of them there are only Birarelli and Colaci with 345.
THE OPPONENTS On Sunday evening in Trento, Cucine Lube will be determined and desirous to return winning. The defending Champion of Italy is fresh from two consecutive home defeats (2-3 with Piacenza and 1-3 with Monza) that within a week made it lose its record in the ranking and the possibility of playing in front of its fans the Final of Del Monte® Super Cup 2021. Still without Zaytsev (in recovery after the right knee arthroscopic surgery in summer), Gianlorenzo Blengini’s team will try to redeem itself, trusting the teamwork of the starting six that is almost the same that won the championship only a few months ago. The changes are represented by the Puerto Rican opposite spiker Gabi Garcia and, especially, the Brazilian spiker Ricardo Lucarelli, arrived in summer from Trento, where, in his first Italian season, he collected 44 attendances and 483 points. Together with the green-gold, the main offensive line up of the white-red play remains the former Juantorena and the middle blockers Simon and Anzani, best blocker in the latest regular season.
PREVIOUS MATCHES The match between Trentino Volley and Lube is becoming a classic of the Italian championship, characterized by eight Final out of four different competitions: two of Play Off (2012 and 2017), three of Italy Cup (2012, 2013, and 2017), two of Super Cup (2009 and 2013), and one of World Cup per Clubs (2018). Moreover, Civitanova is together with Modena the only opponent that Trentino Volley has always faced in all twenty-two seasons of activity, and is the one with which has the major number of official previous matches: in total 81 (Modena is second with 76). The report is in favour of Lube for 46-35, especially thanks to the latest twelve wins out of fifteen previous matches. In the latest year, the games have been balanced, considering that Trento has won two out of five matches played: 14 December 2020 by 3-0 at the BLM Group Arena and the latest 28 March by 3-2 in Civitanova (first yellow-blue win of the history at the Eurosuole Forum). Cucine Lube has won the following three games, even violating in two cases the BLM Group Arena without conceding sets to the opponents (1 April and 7 April in the series of semifinal Play Off). Trentino Volley won in eighteen out of thirty-three home games played with the white-red. The most dated success is referred to 4 March 2001 (3-1 in the sign of De La Fuente) and represents a first in the yellow-blue history: it was the first historic win of the Club against a big team.
THE REFEREES The match will be directed by Giuseppe Curto (first referee from Gorizia, in Serie A from 2013) and Stefano Cesare (from Rome, in Serie A from 1999 and in international field from 2010). For Curto, the latest previous game with Trentino Volley dates back to 10 March (success at the tie break on Piacenza in match 1 of the quarterfinals Play Off), for Cesare it dates back four days after: Piacenza-Trento 1-3 of 14 March.
TV, RADIO, AND INTERNET The match is a global event and will have a contemporary broadcast on TV, radio, and Internet.
