Sir Safety Conad-Itas Trentino 3-0, the match report

The match report. Itas Trentino presents itself without Michieletto, so Lorenzetti lines up a classic starting six with Sbertoli as setter, Pinali as opposite spiker, Kaziyski and Lavia as spikers, Lisinac and Podrascanin as middle blockers, Zenger libero. Sir Safety Perugia responds with Giannelli as setter, Rychlicki as opposite spiker, Leon and Anderson as spikers, Solé and Ricci as middle blockers, Colaci libero. The start is all in the sign of Leon, who drags his team on 4-7 with service and attack, forcing Lorenzetti to call a time-out. At the restart the game doesn’t change, also because Lavia makes a mistake in attack and Ricci blocks Pinali (5-10). The central part of the set doesn’t give surprises: Trento struggles in the break points phase and the hosts don’t grant anything and further extend the gap with Giannelli (9-16), before Leon unleashes at service (three aces for 11-21). The set is already closed and the teams change field a few seconds later, on 12-25 with a set point of Giannelli.
Itas Trentino tries to react at the start of the second set with Lisinac (3-1), and Perugia seems to suffer the initial yellow-blue force (8-6), then Leon and Giannelli in attack change the trend (11-12 and 12-14 with two aces of the Cuban). Trento responds until 18-19 and then loses definitively contact, because Sir Safety Conad is on fire at service with Anderson (18-21) and the yellow-blue don’t catch up anymore (21-25).
Losing by 0-2, the formation of Trento tries again to restart (3-1, 7-5, and 9-7) taking advantage of the good moment at the net of Kaziyski and Pinali. A slash of Solé guarantees the tie (10-10), then Anderson makes Perugia go ahead (12-14 and 14-18) with powerful attacks and an ace. This is the final cue because then the Umbrians don’t grant anything more (16-21) and close the set already on 18-25 with the final ace (the seventh personal) of Leon.
