SuperLega, notes and statistic curiosity after the success for 3-1in Taranto

Some statistic curiosities emerged after the match of the eighth turn of regular season of SuperLega Credem Banca 2021/22, played on Wednesday by Itas Trentino at PalaMazzola of Taranto and won for 3-1 against Gioiella Prisma.

VICTORY IN RIVA ALLO IONIO, ALMOST TWELVE YEARS LATER. The result achieved the 24th of November allowed Trentino Volley to celebrate a new victory in Taranto, eleven years and ten months after the last one achieved in this city. The most recent previous one was in fact the 24th of January 2010, when the yellow-blue formation won for 3-0 once again at PalaMazzola in the last direct match against Prisma.
Things did not always go according to plan in Riva allo Ionio, since in the past a defeat for 1-3 (22nd of January 2007) arrived, as well as two for 0-3 (4th of April 2005 and 12th of November 2000) and one for 2-3 (1st of November 2001). The victory of Wednesday was therefore only the third victory achieved in Taranto, taking into consideration also the 3-1 achieved the 15th March 2008.

BEST SEASONAL SCORE FOR LAVIA. The 22 points made at PalaMazzola, resulting from 58% in attack and four blocks, represents the best personal score of Daniele Lavia with the T-shirt of Trentino Volley, after twelve matches played. The Calabrian spiker improved of six points his previous record, 16 winning balls, achieved during the Final of Del Monte® Supercoppa 2021, played in Civitanova Marche against Monza exactly a months before (victory in four sets in that case too).

KAZIYSKI CATCHES UP WITH BIRARELLI E COLACI. With the victory achieved in Taranto, the captain Matey Kaziyski caught up with Emanuele Birarelli e Massimo Colaci, with 345 presences on the field with the T-shirt of Trentino Volley. Right in the next match, Tuesday the 2nd of December in Perugia for the seasonal debut in 2022 CEV Champions League, the number one of Trentino could surpass the couple, becoming in absolute the most present player in the history of the Club.

LORENZETTI WITH 244. The match directed by the coach at PalaMazzola was the number 244 for Angelo Lorenzetti with Trentino Volley. The analysis shows 171, and 72 defeats, with a percentage of success of 70%. The coach of the Marches is the second one in absolute for the number of presence, after Radostin Stoytchev (389). In the third place continues to remain Bruno Bagnoli, coach in the first two years of activity, with 88 matches.

YELLOW-BLUE SUPERLEGA ON A BREAK FOR 25 DAYS. The match in Puglia was the last one played by Trentino Volley in SuperLega Credem Banca 2021/22 for the the next 25 days. In the next three week, the yellow-blue formation will change the name (from Itas Trentino to Trentino Itas) and will be only focusing on international activities; the team will play for the Champions League on the 2nd and on the 16th of December (respectively in Perugia and at home against Fenerbahce), while between the 7th and 11th of December will play in Betim for the Volleyball Club World Championship.
