Trentino Itas-Fenerbache HDI Istanbul 3-0, the match report

Trentino Itas showed up once again in the friendly facility, lining up the starting six, which was already seen on the Brazilian court for the Club World Championship 2021. Sbertoli directing the team, Lavia as opposite spiker, Kaziyski and Michieletto as wing spikers, Lisinac and Podrascanin as middle-blockers, Zenger as libero. Fenerbahce responded with Kaya as setter, Toy as opposite spiker, Louati and Hidalgo Oliva as wing spikers, Sikar and Tumer as middle-blockers, Mert as libero. The start was really strong. The host team tried from the very start to escape with Lisinac (3-1), but were soon caught up by the guest team (4-4). Hidalgo Oliva’s ace, player that was really focused since the start, guaranteed the first advantage for the Turkish team (5-6), however Michieletto made things right (7-7), well supported by Lavia (10-8). Tumer’s services, with an ace among them, offered a new starting point for Fenerbahce, that tied 13-13. Once again the young left-handed hammer created a new break, after a spectacular yellow-blue defensive action (15-13). Later on, Trentino Itas took off even more (18-15 and 20-16, double time-out by Castellani) thanks to a more determination on the second line. The end of the set was controlled with attention by Lorenzetti’s team (22-18), changing the court with a score 25-21.
Fenerbahce tried to reply in the second set. Once again, Hidalgo Oliva was the one to cheer his teammates (6-8) with strong services, transformed into points by Toy. Michieletto with an ace tied the score quickly (9-9), but later on because of his mistake a new advantage was created (11-13). An advantage that Lorenzetti tried to slow down interrupting the game. After the time-out, the yellow-blue team tied immediately (14-14), taking advantage from some mistakes on the court made by the opponents. Hidalgo Oliva was the one that once again (attack and two consecutive aces) to increase the gap of the Turkish team (14-18), Trento’s trainer lined up D’Heer instead of Podrascanin, but the comeback did not seem to arrive (17-21), at least till Kaziynski changed the course of the game at the service line (two aces and a simple block by Lisinac for 21-21). Castellana called two time-out but Matey and Lavia (other two blocks on Toy) were relentless and guided their teammates to the incredible end of the set (25-22). An end that gave the local team the second set as well.
The enthusiasm wave for the beautiful winning comeback of the previous set, made Trentino Itas got off to a good start in the third set, where Lavia kept being strong, also at the service (from 5-4 to 8-4). Michieletto joined the show at the service line. His services guided the yellow-blue team to +10 (16-5), moment when in Fenerbahce’s half court fell down counterattacks and winning blocks. Lorenzetti offered room to D’Heer once again, who scored immediately 19-6. Closed match, even though the end came a little bit later, with a score of 25-17, because the local team decreased its attention a little bit.
