SuperLega, back in the court on Sunday at BLM Group arena for the 13° round

SuperLega, Credem Banca 2021/2022 in the court for the 13th round of the regular season in the weekend, the last of the first round. After more than a month of waiting, Itas Trentino will play a championship match on Sunday 10 December in the well-known BLM Group Arena, waiting for the visit of Top Volley Cisterna. The starting whistle is at 20.30; live on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on OTT Volleyball World Tv.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO December agenda is full of official appointments for the yellow-blue tram line up, that will get back in the court against Top Volley Cisterna for the seventh time this month. This is an important appointment for its journey in SuperLega, but also in view of Coppa Italia.
“After the Club World Cup and Champions League, now it has come the time to deal with our championship - said the coach of Trentino Volley Angelo Lorenzetti - . We are among the first four teams in ranking and we want to stay there not only in the first round but also until the end of regular season, first of all for our personal satisfaction, we are aware that this position is not taken for granted in this season. Secondly, because this will guarantee Trentino Volley once again the qualification for a European Cup. Cisterna will give us nothing, because it will play itself to join the first eight; the previous matches show that this team has high performances that can hinder every opponent. For this reason, we need to pay attention, be concentrated and have continuity.”
For the 251st game it the Trentino Volley court, the coach of Trento can rely on all thirteen players at his disposal and he will complete the team preparation for the match with two trainings this afternoon and Sunday morning. For the yellow-blue this will be the 910th official match of its history, the 418th played in its court and it will look for its 635th victory (the 331st at BLM Group Arena).
THE OPPONENTS Top Volley Cisterna arrives in Trento with a safe ranking situation, as a result of the thirteen points gained in the first eleven matches and most of all of four victories (among them the victory in Milan). The relegation area is five points apart, and only two points for the Playoff; Soli’s line up was able to gain this enviable position due to its combativeness that acknowledged by all its opponents, as evidenced by the defeats suffered with Modena and Monza at the tie break. Moreover, in the first round Top Volley Cisterna proved to have a good organisation at the block, that make them the most efficient in this fundament in the championship thanks to 113 winning blocks. The ex-player Trentino player Zingel (season 2017/18 in Trento, in which he collected 48 participations with 202 points) gets himself noticed in the court from this point of view (he is the third blocker), but also Maar and Bossi are giving a hand. The Canadian hitter-spiker is also the point of reference of the game according to the game arranged by the setter Baranowicz in the set position. Many players alternated each other in this sector such as Lanza (now in China), Szwarc (injured) and now relies on the Croatian opposite hitter (who is now growing) and the young player of Modena Rinaldi (world champion under 21 along with Michieletto). In the last weeks, the society has strengthened the array of players, adding the Dutch middle-blocker Wiltenburg and the Iranian hitter-spiker Saadat.
FINAL RUSH OF FIRST ROUND: COPPA ITALIA GRID IS DEFINED The two appointments, the one with Cisterna on Sunday and the midweek away game in Milan on 22 December (rematch of the 12 round), are crucial for Itas Trentino to see if it can paly or not in the fourth final of the biggest national trophy in front of the audience (single-elimination tournament). It will be necessary to qualify among the first four at the end of the first round in order to achieve this intermediate goal. If the yellow blue team gains at least two points in the next two matches, it will mathematically reach this goal, without looking at the results in the other courts; this will be enough to overcome Piacenza, that is behind five points at the moment (22 to 17), but it still has two matches to play (as the yellow-blue team). The fifth to qualify is Monza, in fact it is sure to stay behind the Trentino team because it is four positions behind and with only a match to play. Trento can yearn for the third position, considering that Modena has the same score but it has to play only a game. The situation will be clearer in four days, but not conclusive, considering that Piacenza itself will play the two matches left to complete the first round of its tournament between 26 and 29 December.
PREVIOUS MATCHES With Sunday’s match, Top Volley Cisterna (yet Latina) reaches Perugia in the fifth position among the societies that Trentino Volley confronted the most in official matches: already 42 previous matches. This number is passed only by Civitanova (83), Modena (77), Piacenza (61) and Cuneo (47). The report is in favour of the yellow-blue team for 33-8, that has won thirteen consecutive matches. The last Top Volley Cisterna success is dated on 13 April 2014 (1-3 in Trento), in a good match for the fifth position in the playoff. At BLM Group Arena, Top Volley Cisterna succeeded only in two other occasions (on a total of 21 games played) and always in four sets: 1 December 2002 and 6 January 2007. The latest previous played in Trento is dated back to last 16 January: 3-1 for the host, with sets of 24-26, 26-24, 25-20, 25-18.

For Piana, the last previous match with Trentino Volley dates back to 10 November (home win in three sets in Ravenna), while for Zanussi it was three days before (7 November, defeat 3-0 in Perugia).
