Itas Trentino-Top Volley Cisterna 3-0, match report

Match report. Lorenzetti didn't change his starting six one bit, with Sbertoli back at the direction, Lavia as opposite, Kaziyski and Michieletto as hitters, Lisinac and Podrascanin in the middle, Zenger as libero. Top Volley Cisterna took to the court at the BLM Group Arena without Maar (sprained ankle suffered on Friday evening during training) and therefore with Baranowicz as setter, Dirlic as opposite, Rinaldi and Raffaelli as side hitters, Bossi and Zingel in the middle, Cavaccini as libero. At the start of the match the ball changeover worked well (4-4); Thanks to Kaziyski they went up to 6-4, but then Itas Trentino increased their defensive intensity and quickly went up to +4 (10-6). Cisterna felt the pressure and began to make mistakes in attack (14-9), facilitating the hosts' breakaway attempt, which materialized on 19-11, when Kaziyski turned two counterattacks into a point. The yellow-blue team arrived at the change of court with ease, closing out the match on 25-15, with Matey also effective from the nine-metre line. This continued in the second period: Lavia and Kaziyski led their teammates towards an immediate acceleration (from 2-2 to 6-3), then Michieletto increased the advantage (10-6), well supported by Sbertoli (block for 12-7). Cisterna made a mistake again and it was easy for Trento to hit back (16-10), also because Lavia was a driving force in attack. In the final part of the set there was also room for D'Heer (on court in place of Lisinac), who immediately scored an ace for 19-12. The 2-0 also came very quickly (23-14 and 25-14), with a block by Podrascanin. The script didn’t change in the third set, with Itas Trentino quickly taking the reins of the game (from 3-3 to 6-3), working very well in the break phase (11-7). Bossi's ace deluded the opponents into thinking they could reopen the set (11-9); they believed in it until 14-13, then they finally gave way to their opponents who, with Kaziyski and Michieletto, went on a fast pace towards 3-0 (18-15 and 22-17), which materialised on 25-22 with an attack by the newcomer Albergati.
