Allianz Milano-Itas Trentino 0-3, the match report

Match report. Trentino Volley’s medical team worked particularly well during the last few hours, so true is that Lorenzetti can line up in the starting six both Sbertoli as setter and Lisinac as middle-blocker, together with the other five regulars: Lavia as opposite spiker, Kaziyski and Michieletto as wing spiker, Podrascanin as middle-blocker, Zenger as libero. The team of Milan proposes Porro as setter, Patry opposite spiker, Jaeschke and Ishikawa as wing spikers, Piano an Chinenyeze as middle-blockers, Pesaresi as libero. The yellow-blue team is the one to have more impact on the game. With Kaziyski at service (immediately an ace), the team arrives quickly at 4-2. The team of Milan ties the match at eight but then the yellow-blue team fires up in the break phase with Lavia and Lisinac and escapes with +4 (13-9, Piazza’s time out). The team of Milan changes gear in the second half of the set thanks to Ishikawa and Patry (ace for him to), reaching 19-18. Lorenzetti interrupts the game and at the restart Lisinac (change of ball and then fantastic service) and Podrascanin (block on Piano) are the one to create a new gap (22-18). That’s enough to assure the advantage and to go to the next set with 1-0 (25-22) with the first deciding set by the Potke once again.
Kaziyski’s services characterize the start of the second set, bringing Trento to 4-2. This time the team of Milan ties quickly (4-4) and fires up (9-7), taking advantage from some mistakes by yellow-blue team. Lorenzetti’s time-out is fundamental. With Lisinac (block) and Podrascanin (Ace), Itas Trentino reaches quickly the draw (10-10) and then flies to +2 (12-10). During the central part, Trento accelerates with Michieletto and Lavia (19-15) and goes on thanks to Alessandro (ace) and a dominant Podrascanin in the centre of the net: 25-18 and 2-0, the point that represents the third mathematical place at the end of the first round.
The third set, the team of Allianz Milano give everything it has to be in the match and with Jaeschke reduces the initial disadvantage (9-7), transforming it into 9-11 (Lorenzetti’s time out). Then, the host team’s advantage increases (10-13), but D’Heer’s block (on the court since the end of the previous set, replacing Lisinac) brings back the yellow-blue team. Chinenyeze still untamed and almost alone, with attack and block, gives a new gap to the host team (16-19) that Kaziyski and Lavia adjust quickly (21-21). The final sprint is fascinating. Trento lines up Lisinac one more and with Michieletto scores 23-22, before receiving the Ishikawa’s overtaking (23-24). The yellow-blue team nullifies two set points with Kaziyski and take advantage from the second one in its own favour thanks to Lavia (28-26).
