SuperLega, on Wednesday at BLM Group Arena the rematch of 15° round

On Wednesday 2nd March the rematch of 15th round (the second of second round) of regular season SuperLega Credem Banca 2021/22 will be played and it will see Itas Trentino facing Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia at BLM Group Arena. The starting whistle it at 20.30; live on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on OTT Volleyball World Tv.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO After the amazing and important victory in Piacenza last Sunday night, the yellow-blue team gets back right away in the court, this time at home, to complete the schedule of appointments of the previous days that still has to recover in regular season.
“Our week starts with a home match against a line-up that is involved in an engaging fight for safety and to obtain the last position available for Play Off – explained Angelo Lorenzetti during the presentation of the event - . When you reach this point in the competition, the risk is to lose energies trying to label every single match to explain its specific importance, but we don’t want to do this. We have to focus our forces and try to do something good in the court, sure that this is the useful way to improve. We will get in the court and we will be motivated to give the best of us to gain as many points as possible to increase our ranking”.
The yellow-blue coach can count on the whole list of players; Daniele Albergati is available again since today, thanks to the negative test of a few hours ago after having spent the last ten days in isolation due to Covid-19. The team will complete the match training this evening and on Wednesday morning, ready to play the 15th seasonal appointment at BLM Group Arena (where it has already won in eleven circumstances). In this occasion, Trentino Volley will play its 926th official match of its history and it will look for its 386th victory in regular season.
THE OPPONENTS Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia arrives in Trento to face the penultimate away-game of its regular season, with the need to move its ranking once again (how it has happened lately) to get to the direct match for the safety on 13th March at home of Padova, with a reassuring position on Padova. At the moment, the two teams are separated only by one point (22 the Calabrians, 21 Kioene), the yellow-red team can’t sleep peacefully considering this situation, even if it is coming back; just consider that in the last nine matches it obtained four victories and a total of twelve points. However, it’s march was stopped on Sunday’s afternoon, defeat in three sets against Perugia. The main characters of the second round in Baldovin’s team are the opposite-spiker Nishida (in shape again after the injury that forced him in the box between December and January) and the German hitter-spiker Fromm, that came at mid-season from Cannes, just like Nelli, one of the three ex-players (the other two are Candellaro and Partenio). Among the most there is also the Brazilian middle-blocker Flavio Gualberto, who is third in the attack performance ranking (weighted average), the second for total blocks (76 blocks in 21 matches) and the fourth middle-blocker of the tournament.
PREVIOUS MATCHES Trentino Volley and Callipo Sport Vibo Valentia have a long tradition of matches behind, that started more than 17 years ago (3th October 2004) with the first official match in regular season (external success at tie break for yellow-blue team). The balance is 36 previous matches, among which stand out five Play Off matches and two in Coppa Italia, and it is favourable 30-6 for the Club of via Trener. Trento won fourteen of the seventeen matches played; the recent success of Vibo Valentia 3-1 obtained on 25th November 2020 right in the last match played at BLM Group Arena: 1-3 with sets of 18-25, 25-22, 23-25, 23-25; which the yellow-blue team had to play this competition without the two setters of role, due to Covid. In the first-round match, played on 17th October at PalaMaiata, the victory was for Itas Trentino 3-1, with sets of 21-25, 16-25, 29-27, 21-25 and Michieletto mvp. The Calabrians have won only one more time (3-1 on 7th October 2012) in the last 17 previous matches in Trento.
THE REFEREES The match will be directed by Luca Saltalippi (from Torgiano – Perugia, in highest category since 2011) and by Andrea Pozzato (from Bolzano – of role since 2004), respectively at the 8th and 11th match of their season in SuperLega 2021/22. For Saltalippi the only seasonal previous match with Trentino Volley dates back to 17th October (victory at BLM Group Arena 3-0 over Verona), while Pozzato has curiously directed two times the home match with Monza (3-1 on 14th November for regular season and 3-0 on 16th January, quarterfinal of Coppa Italia).

TICKETS AND ENTRANCE PROCEDURE Trentino Volley can accommodate a limited number of spectators in the stands of the Arena of via Fersina for this appointment (60% of its total capacity); everyone must show a SUPER GREEN PASS (Covid-19 Certificate that attests the vaccination or the recovery) and wear ffp2 mask during the time of their visit in the Arena. This is the 8th match included in the second-round season ticket; the front door to enter in the stands is indicated on the pass.
