Itas Trentino-Allianz Milano 3-2, the match report

The the match report. Angelo Lorenzetti has still to play without Lavia, this is the reason why in the starting six he finds new room for Pinali as opposite hitter, diagonally to Sbertoli. The other regular are Kaziyski and Michieletto in place 4, Podrascanin and Lisinac in the centre, Zender as libero. Allianz Milano has to play without Patry, not present, and responds with Porro as setter, Romanò as opposite hitter, Jaeschke and Ishikawa laterally, Piano and Chinenyeze in the centre, Pasaresi as libero. The start is more than balanced, with the two formations that take turn for the lead (3-2, 3-4, 6-6), until Michieletto transforms an action and Pinal stops Chinenyeze as double help in the centre of the net (9-6). The guest team reacts quickly with a block of the French player against Kaziyski and with a counterattack of Jaeschke (9-9), but Michieletto with an ace opens again the match (11-9). Milan does not give up, ties thing up and starts escaping on 13-15, taking advantage of the difficulties of Itas Trentino in reception and Pinali in attack. Lorenzetti’s time-out is, as often happens, fundamental, because at the restart the host team starts playing well (16-15), taking advantage of the good moments at net by Michielletto. A new attack at net of Milan (block of Chinenyez and then of Piano against Kaziyski) changes once again the match (20-22) and force the local team to interrupt the game. At the restart, Trento gives rise to a partial of 4-1 (24-22), thanks to Lisina (at service) and Kaziyski. It’s not enough, because with Romanò at service, Milan changes once again the situation (24-25), taking the match to the advantages, as was supposed to be seeing the highs and lows of the match. At the sprint, two attacks in the phase of break points by Ishikawa give a score of 28-30 and first set to Allianz.
The point-to-point fight starts again after the teams change courts (5-5 and 9-9), with the two teams that continue to fight attack after attack, defence after defence and block after block. Itas Trentino creates a double advantage with Kaziyski (11-9), then the same Matey from the line of service gives other three break points to the team (15-10). Milan does not give up, with Romanò the team stands up, till 20-18 (aces of the left-handed opposite hitter), then it is Kaziyski to close the partial (23-19 and 25-21).
The enthusiasm for the tie in the sets is closer and closer also at the start of the third match, where the yellow-blue team escapes quickly (from 3-3 and 7-3), taking advantage of the verve at net by Michieletto (attack and block) and the decisiveness of the captain at service. Piazza calls a time out, but the restart of the hostilities, Allianz, despite keeping playing, has difficulties to tie thing up (11-7, 15-10). In the second half, the local team accelerates more (18-12) with a block by Sbertoli against Ishikawa, but it is not the decisive point because the guest team goes up to 20-18, with a partial of 2-6 thanks to Romanò. Alessandro Michieletto evens the opponent’s attempt (23-19) and paves the path to the 2-1, that, in fact, at 25-20 (block of Radioscanning) gives at least the third place in the ranking to Trent, taking into account the defeat for 3-1 of Modena in Taranto.
With the certain position in the ranking, Lorenzetti offers a break to Kaziyski, leaving him on the bench during the fourth partial in favour of Cavuto, and Podrascanin, alternated with D’Heer. Itas Trentino keeps going (7-6), even because Pinali is ready at net (11-9). However, Milan responds once again (11-12) and with Romanò creates a double advantage (13-15, time out Lorenzetti). The host team keeps playing in the side out phase, but have some difficulties to score during the break phase (17-19 and 19-21), even because the Lombard team does not give anything away and with Ishikawa, the team goes without any problem to the tie break (21-23), that is achieved thank to a touch of Chinenyeze (23-25).
The fifth set sees the yellow-blue team starting with everything the players have (5-2 and 8-5) with Michieletto and Pinali on the defensive. Alessandro continues to score point after point (12-7), taking his teammates towards the last home victory of this regular season, achieved with 15-9.
