Champions League, from 0-2 to 2-2 in Berlin: Trento reaches Perugia in the semifinals!

For the second consecutive season, Trentino Itas confirmed its position among the best four teams in Europe, qualifying for the double semifinals of the 2022 CEV Champions League - to be played between the end of March and the beginning of April against eternal rival Perugia. Yet another great goal of this splendid competitive year, reached for the seventh time by the Gialloblù club in its history, was reached this evening in Germany, climbing the ladder in a technical and environmental situation that was not easy and losing only in the tie break against the Berlin Recycling Volleys; a result that was enough to guarantee qualification, by virtue of the three-set victory obtained in the first match last March 10th.
Down 0-2 in front of the home team, boosted by the thrust of the 4,200 fans present at the Max Schmeling Halle, Kaziyski and his teammates offered a further proof of character and maturity, reacting strongly in the third set (won hands down) and taking the hard-fought fourth set in what was in fact the partial that decided the entire doubleheader. Trento made it its own by taking full advantage of the great streak at the net of Michieletto (who eventually scored 22 times, with three blocks and five aces and 56% at the net) and of Kaziyski himself (15 points with 48%), of Podrascanin's block and of the mental strength of the entire team, in which Pinali also shone (17 with 60% at the net and four blocks). Having gained qualification thanks to the double comeback, the tie break became only a moment of ineffective waiting for the final celebrations, which Berlin won as partial consolation.
Below is the scoreboard of the return match of the quarter finals of the 2022 CEV Champions League played this evening at the Max Schmeling Halle in Berlin.
