Play Off Scudetto, the challenge with Piacenza is renewed in the quarter finals

In the first round of the Play Off Scudetto for Trentino Volley the challenge with Piacenza is renewed, a team already faced five times in the post season phase: three in the Final (2008, 2009, 2013 editions) and two in the quarter finals (2005 and 2021 editions). With the exception of the most recent edition, referred to last season, every time the two teams have faced each other in the Play Off, a play-off game has always been needed to decide the winner.
For the Club of via Trener the one that will open on March 26 will be the nineteenth participation in the Play Off scudetto in twenty-two total seasons of activity: in the first two years (2000/01 and 2001/02) it did not qualify, while in the penultimate (2019/20) it was the Covid-19 emergency that prevented it from taking place. In the eighteen previous occasions, in no less than thirteen circumstances the Club of via Trener managed to get past the quarterfinals. If we exclude the bitter and very short adventure of the 2014 edition, in every Play Off in which it has taken part, Trentino Volleyball has always won at least one match; in fifteen cases out of eighteen already the first match played.
