Champions League, victory in Perugia: success at tie break in the first-round semifinal

Trentino Itas ends its very busy month of March with a wonderful exploit in Umbria. This yellow-blue line-up hit suddenly at PalaBarton in Perugia, at tie break, gaining the first-round match of 2022 CEV Champions League semi-final against Sir Sicoma Monini.
This result will be confirmed in eight days in the second-round at BLM Group Arena, if the team wants to move on to the Final of the biggest continental trophy, for the second year in a row, on 22nd May in Ljubljana. It will be necessary to win with any points the official match to obtain it; a defeat at tie break will result with the two teams playing the golden set at the end of the canonical match, while a big victory in four set of the Umbrian will guarantee them to move to the next round.
The first match of the Italian derby of Champions League gave a wonderful match regarding intensity, quality in the court by both the teams at net and continuous upturning of the game.
Trentino Itas surprised the opponents during the sprint in the first and third set, taking advantages of all the good moves at net and in defence. Perugia responded with strength in the second set and then they found the force to react thanks to Loen in the end of the fourth set, when it was under of 19-21. At the tie break, the yellow-blue team showed its wonderful night, ending on 15-12 and winning after one year and three months at PalaBarton. It must be highlighted, in the excellent general game, the wonderful performance of Michieletto (Mvp with 26 points, 51% in attack, one block, one ace and many other good things), the endless class of Kaziyski (25 winning balls with 50% at net and two aces) and the big presence at block of Podrascanin: four winning but huge number of positively touched and replayed balls in the half of Trentino’s court.
