The match report. orenzetti confirms the formation we have already seen on Sunday in Piacenza for match 2 in the quarter final of Play-Off Scudetto. Trentino Itas starts the match with Sbertoli as setter, Lavia as opposite spiker, Kaziyski and Michieletto in place 4, Lisinac and Prodrascanin at the centre, Zenger as libero. Sir Sicome Monini Perugia responds with Gianelli as setter, Rychlicki as opposite spiker, Leon and Anderson as wing spiker, Mengozzi and Solé at the centre, Colaci as libero. The best impact has been given by the guest team, that starts better(2-4 and 5-7), taking advantage of the difficulties at net by Kaziyski and of the good start by Rychlicki. Trento tries to move closer over and over, increasing the rhythm of its side out (6-7 and 9-10), but when Michieletto is blocked by Gianelli, the yellow-blue team goes under three points (10-13), forcing the local trainer to interrupt the game. Once the match starts again, it is a first set in break-point phase by Lisinac and an ace by Michieletto against Colaci to take the team at a tie (15-15). Grbic calls a time out, but Trentino Itas starts escaping quickly after, capitalizing a mistake at net by Anderson (19-18), followed by Lisinac’s block against Rychlicki, which assures a double advantage (22-20). In the final moment, Lisinac (block against Leon) and an ace by Michieletto (ace against Colaci) close the set 25-21.
The respond by Sir Sicoma Monini arrives after the teams change court, with Leon and Solé that start strong and take the Umbrian team from 5-6 to 6-10 (time-out called by Lorenzetti). The words by the trainer cheers the team up that with Kaziyski and Lavia move forwards (12-13), before suffering a new break-point (12-16), result of some mistakes at net. The final moment of the set is in absolute control of the guest team (14-19, 18-23), that with service and block puts the the opponent under a lot of pressure and controls perfectly the respond by Lisinac and Michieletto (21-25).
Trentino Itas wakes up again in the third set, starting strong (4-0) thanks to the initial rotation with Michieletto at service. Perugia gets nervous, makes lots of mistakes at service and the yellow-blue team takes advantage of them to escape (10-5 and 12-6 with a splendid block by Michieletto alone against Leon). Grbic interrupts the game and take advantage of the time-out, without obtaining concrete replies, even because Trento works very well during the break-point phase (17-11). In the final part, the host team increases the gap (23-15), because Leon is in difficulties in reception and at net. 2-1 by Trento on 25-16.
The fight goes back to be hard-fought in the fourth set, where Perugia starts better with Anderson (4-6), but is soon taken on by two blocks (Michieletto and Lavia for 8-8). Sir Sicoma Monini scores again more points (11-14 and 14-18) with a gradual growth by Rychlicki, while the host team changes Kaziyski for Cavuto. It is Anderson who defends the gap started in the first half of the set (18-22) and he is the one who brings the set to another tie-break (20-25).
In the fifth set, without being able to play with Kaziyski (right knee injury), Lorenzetti chooses to let Pinali play as opposite spiker and Lavia and Michieletto on the side. Trento keeps up (4-4) and starts leading 8-7 with Lavia, but Perugia overtakes with two points (11-13) thanks to a mistake by the same Calabrian player and a block by Solé against Pinali. A mistake at service by Lisinac brings the two team to the golden set (13-15). The tie-breaker set quickly sees Trentino Itas unchained in the break-point phase with Michieletto attacks and Lavia’s block (3-1 and 5-2). The Calabrian wing spiker becomes unstoppable and brings his teammates to 7-2. The Umbrian team responds till they are under two points (12-10) with a revived Leon, who than signs the match at 14 points. In the fourth match point for Trento, Rychlicki makes a mistakes and gives the ticket for Ljubljana to Trentino Itas (17-15). It is Final now!!!
