Itas Trentino-Cucine Lube Civitanova 3-0, the match report

The match report. Angelo Lorenzetti decides to start again from the six players that have been seen the most on the court lately: Sbertoli as setter, Lavia, Kaziyski and Michieletto as wing spikers, Lisinac and Podrascanin in the centre and Zenger as libero. Cucine Lube Civitanova must renounce once again to Juantorena and so responds with De Cecco as setter, Zaytsev as opposite spiker, Yant and Lucarelli as wing spikers, Simon and Anzani in the centre and Balaso as Libero.
The kick-off of the match is from the start of high level. The host team manages to increase the gap on 4-4, thanks to Kaziyski and Michieletto (ace) and it’s soon +3 (7-4). The guest team tries to timidly respond with Zaytsev, but after a while they once again capitalize during the break point phase, where they also enhance Lavia and Podrascanin (block and slash attack).
On 14-8, Blengini has already  finished his time-out, without obtaining tangible results from his team. Itas Trentino is a high-speed train (17-10 and 19-12) and they allow almost nothing to the opponents, at least until 21-16, when a rotation with Zaytsev at service (also peppered by an ace), takes the team from the Marche to minus three (21-18), forcing Lorenzetti to interrupt the game. At the restart, Trento feels free from its fears and flies towards 1-0, inspired once again by Potke (23-19 and 25-20).
During the second set, the yellow-blue team tries to escape quickly again, following the enthusiasm thanks to the captain’s contribution (3-1 and 7-5), but with a block, the opponents quickly keep up (3-3 and 7-7).
Later on, the fight becomes very clamped (10-10, 12-12), with Cucine Lube that for the first time is ahead with Lucarelli, but Michieletto inverts quickly the trend with a block-out (16-15), followed after a while by Lavia during the break-point phase that stops Zaytsev (19-17).
In the final moments, the host team is strong at net (20-17 and then 23-21) and they contain the attempt of the host team’s recovery, taking advantage from some mistakes in excess while serving. The 2-0 comes during the rotation at Lavia’s service, also characterized by the ace of 25-21 and by the previous point scored by Pinali, who recently joined in.
The blow-for-blow fight starts again in the third set, where Cucine Lube (which lines up Kovar on the court in place of Lucarelli) gives the maximum effort and constantly keeps up with the opponents (5-5, 10-10) thanks to a great Zaytsev.
In the middle part, Lavia and Sbertoli achieve a break with +3 (18-15, time out Blengini). However, it is not the decisive gap, because the team from the Marche recovers with a great strength up to 22-22 with Yant at net and an ace by De Cecco. The final sprint is signed by an invasion by Yant (24-22) and by the side out obtained by Kaziyski at 24-23.
