2022/23 SuperLega official schedule, debut 2nd October at BLM Group Arena vs Siena

The calendar for the 78th Serie A1 SuperLega Credem Banca championship (2022/23 season) was made official today. Itas Trentino will begin its run at the BLM Group Arena on October 2 with Siena, which in the summer took over the sporting title from newly promoted Reggio Emilia; the first away engagement is instead scheduled seven days later in Verona for the traditional Adige derby; for the first big match it will be necessary to wait only for the next round, when Trento will be the guest of Piacenza, in the remake of the quarterfinal challenge of the last Play Off Scudetto. The others from the fifth day, every three rounds: with Civitanova on the fifth day (Nov. 20), with Perugia on the eighth (Nov. 20) and with Modena on the last (Dec. 11).

The dates: the regular season will take place in just over five months, between October 2 and March 12 (date of the last day); the big change from the past is the total absence of midweek rounds. In fact, the schedule includes only one day of matches not included in a normal weekend: the thirteenth day, scheduled in any case for a holiday (Monday, December 26) and to be played at home with Verona.
The 2022 Italian Super Cup, which will adopt the Final Four formula for the seventh time, will be played between Monday, October 31 and Tuesday, November 1, preceded by the weekend dedicated to the fifth day; Itas Trentino will once again be among the four participants and will face Sir Safety Susa Perugia in the semifinals. The 2023 edition of the Italian Cup will adopt the traditional formula, also used in the previous season, involving only the top eight in the first round (which closes on December 11). The quarterfinals, defined according to the standings in the rankings obtained after the 11th round of the regular season, will then be played in a single match at the home of the best ranked on Wednesday, Dec. 28 and Thursday, Dec. 29. The Final Four is scheduled between Saturday, Feb. 25 and Sunday, Feb. 26.
The top eight ranked at the end of the regular season will advance to the Play Off Scudetto, who will face each other in the quarterfinals, which on this occasion will feature five games, as is the case for the semifinals and finals. They will kick off on Sunday, March 19, with Game 1 of the quarterfinals and conclude on Sunday, May 14 (eventual date of Game 5). What is new is that the Final for 3rd place (involving the losers of the semifinals) will also be played, again at the best of five games, and will award a place in the Champions League.

This, in detail, is the path that will await in the regular season Itas Trentino, in its 23rd consecutive appearance in the top category, the ninth called SuperLega. In parentheses the date of the first leg and the return match.
