Itas Trentino-Valsa Group Modena 3-1, the match report

Match report. The reading of the starting six sets aside, many changes compared to what was seen only a day earlier on the tricolor court at PalaPirastu; Lorenzetti chooses to rotate the players, starting with Sbertoli as a setter, Nelli as opposite spiker, Cavuto and Džavoronok in position 4, D'Heer and Podrascanin as middle-blockers, Pace as libero. Modena replied with Bruno as a setter, Lagumdzija as opposite hitter, Pope and Rinaldi as wing, Stankovic and Sanguinetti as middle-blockers, Gollini as libero. The yellow-blue team’s start is favorable; Nelli plays at its best and, helped by Cavuto's serves (also a straight ace), leads his team to 8-3.
Giani interrupts the game, but the reaction needed by his team struggles to come (12-6), also because Trento regularly gets the sideout phase often using the right side of the net, where Nelli rages. In the second part of the set, the difference increases again (18-11 and 22-12), with Modena gets nervous and becomes increasingly foul, not only from the nine-meter line but also on the net. The 1-0 lead comes as early as 25-14, with Cavuto still doing his best. The script did not seem to change in the second fraction, with Itas Trentino immediately takes the game in hand with Nelli and D'Heer (ace), immediately pushing to +3 (6-3), which it confirmed later on (9-6 and 13-10), taking advantage of Emilian errors and the concreteness at the net of Cavuto and Džavoronok.  Giani then lets Ngapeth enter, who finds a winning serve as soon as he enters and forces an error from the Czech setter for tie at 14. Lorenzetti's team does not flinch and immediately restarts (18-15) thanks to Sbertoli's ace and a block by the unstoppable Nelli. Modena (with Sala on the court in Lagumdzija’s position) does not give up either and with Stankovic and Sanguinetti climbs the slope again (21-21); it goes to the sprint, where an error by Džavoronok and a block by Bruno on Donovan himself decide the set: 23-25 and 1-1. Thrilled by the photofinish victory in the previous partial, Valsa Group starts at full speed also in the third set (3-6), but Trento recovers quickly thanks to Nelli (6-6), who scored two aces for the yellow-blue’s sprint (13-11). On the court there are now Salsi (at the place of Bruno) and Podrascanin (at the place of Lisinac), too; it is exciting and highly-fought match (18-18), also because Giani’s team shows a high intensity in defence, which often forces Itas Trentino into a mistake. Also in this case, the winning of the partial is characterised by a sprint (21-21, 23-23, 25-25); this time, after failing to exploit six chances and having one of them denied to their opponents, it is Itas Trentino who prevailed, with Nelli’s block and Marechal’s error for the 33-31.
The yellow-blue team wants to close the fourth set and it proves it by flying to 6-3 (Sbertoli’s ace, Nelli’s block). Modena only replies until 8-7 (Sala’s block right on the opposite spiker from Tuscany), then it lags behind (12-8 and 18-12). However, Trento suffers right at the time when they seemed to hold the reins of this match (19-16), because of a power loss. D’Heer block was essential, but then the opponents’ error closes the match (25-18).
