Trentino Itas starts the 2023 CEV Champions League with a clear victory

The run into the 2023 CEV Champions League starts off on the right foot for Trentino Itas. Confirming the tradition with the teams coming from Belgium, tonight at the BLM Group Arena the yellow-blue defeated Decospan VT Menen without any particular problem in the match that marked the beginning of the European Vice-Champions’ season-long journey. After the 3-0 win in Monza four days earlier, Lorenzetti's team immediately collected another victory, also taking advantage of the occasion to rotate the players and give an evening's rest to some players that had had little so far. The technical and physical gap with the opponent was immediately evident, allowing Trento to easily close each set and to test, as had also happened in Cagliari nine days earlier, the reliability of their bench. In the victory, which immediately put Trentino Itas at the top of Pool D together with Kedzierzyn-Kozle, there were the signatures of Nelli (mvp of the match with 19 points, 4 blocks, 3 ace and 60% in attack) and Džavoronok (15 with 58%) but also that of Lavia, best scorer of the match with 21 winning balls, 4 point serves and a resounding 81% at the net. There was also a good performance from Pace (used as the first libero) in the second line, and final satisfaction also for Berger, who entered the exchanges that ended the match; for the young South Tyrolean middle-blocker was the absolute debut with the Trentino Volley jersey with a winning first half and the ovation of the 1,600 spectators present.

Below is the scoreboard of the match in the first round of Pool D of the 2023 CEV Champions League, played this evening at the BLM Group Arena in Trento.
