SuperLega, back on the BLM Group Arena court on Saturday

The ninth turn of the regular season for SuperLega Credem Banca 2022/233 will be played in the upcoming weekend. After two away matches Itas Trentino will be back to play in front of their fans, competing against Allianz Milano in the preview scheduled for Saturday November 26th. The knockoff is foreseen for 6 p.m. at the BLM Group Arena: live report on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on RAI Play and on the OTT Volleyball World Tv platform.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO. Just back from a whole training week (the only event in November), the yellow-blue team will face the so called “insurance derby”, willing to win its success back in order to boost its chances to close the first round with a second place, which is now at risk after Sunday’s defeat against Perugia.
“There are just five points of difference between pour second place and Milan’s eighth, so it is easy to understand that this is a delicate and difficult match – explained coach Angelo Lorenzetti at the match’s eve - . If we want to stay at the top, we have to achieve a positive result, but we are aware of the fact that it will not be easy. Allianz is a team with a high-performance attack squad and precise skills in the break point phase, so before our opponents, we should concentrate on our game’s quality”.
The yellow-blue team’s coach must do without the hitter spiker Oreste Cavuto (he has been dealing with a severe abdominal injury for a couple of weeks), but he could count on the other thirteen shortlist’s members, who will be done with the training after this afternoon session and Saturday’s finishing one at the BLM Group Arena. In the previous home matches of the regular season, Itas Trentino has always gained some points (three against Siena and Taranto, two against Cisterna, one against Civitanova). Sunday’s competition will be the 957th of yellow-blue team’s history, the 439th at home (346 victories and 92 defeats), and the 559th in the regular season.
KAZIYSKI RECEIVES CREDEM BANCA MVP TITLE FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 2022. On Saturday, during the pre-match, there will also be an important moment for Matey Kaziyski: the Trentino Volley’s captain will receive the award as the best player of the SuperLega Credem Banca for the month of October 2022, from the Lega Pallavolo Serie A. The Belgian star player conquered it by winning the mvp title in two out of six regular season matches played in that period (home match against Cisterna on Sunday 16th and against Modena on Thursday 20th). The award will be presented by Itas Mutua’s CEO Alessandro Molinari.
THE OPPONENTS. The four points gained in the last two matches (three in Padua and one in last Sunday’s home match against Piacenza) placed Allianz Milano eighth in the rankings, and kept high the well-justified hopes for the qualification at the Final Eight of the Italian Cup 2023. In order to really qualify for the final eight in this championship, pushing Monza’s comeback attempt (two points away), Roberto Piazza’s team has to get maximum points in the last three challenges, starting from the BLM Group Arena one. The first eight regular season matches proved that Milan is an away-team, considering it won three out of the four away appointments (in Monza, Modena and Padua). The Lombard team’s landmark set by Porro is the French opposite Patry (who already scored 122 points), usually supported by Ishiwaka in attack and one between the Cuban Mergarejo Hernandez and the Iranian Ebadipour. As middle blocker there is the Argentinian Loser, who has always scored some important points in each fundamental, and led him to be the fourth middle blocker of the League.
BACKGROUND. Saturday will be played the 20th official match in history between Trentino Volley and Powervolley Milano; the tally is 17-2 for the yellow-blue club, with the only victories of Powervolley Milano referring to a match played in Trento on October 15th, 2017 (2-3) and in Milan on February 3rd, 2021 (0-3). In all the other seven previous matches played at the BLM Group Arena, the Lombard lineup has won just four sets, losing the last match played (last March 13th) for 3-2.
THE REFEREES. The match will be managed by Ubaldo Luciani (from Chiaravalle-Ancona, in the category since 2009) and by Massimo Florian (from Altivole-Treviso, in the category since 2007), at their fifth and seventh seasonal match of the SuperLega Credem Banca 2022/23, respectively. The only one who had a match in this championship with Trentino Volley is Florian, who managed the Adige Derby of Verona that dates back to October, 9th (loss at tiebreak); while for Luciani the most recent match with the yellow-blue team dates back on January 24th, 2021 (3-0 in Vibo).
