Itambé Minas-Trentino Itas 0-3, the match report

Match report. Angelo Lorenzetti makes no changes to the starting six presented on the court twenty-four hours earlier against Paykan and lines up Trentino Itas with Sbertoli as setter, Kaziyski (in his 400th match with the yellow-blue team) as opposite, Lavia and Michieletto as hitters, Lisinac and Podrascanin as middle players, and Laurenzano as libero. Itambé Minas replies with Resley as setter, Paulo Vinicios as opposite, Arthur Bento and Estrada Mazorra in position 4, Souza Kelvi and Edson Junio as middle players, Nascimento as libero. It was the hosts who had the best impact on the match, thanks to Resley's excellent start in serving, who unmarked his teammates well for the initial 1-3. Lavia with a block and two attacks immediately answers for 6-6, then a pipe out by Estrada Mazorra offers the first lead to the guests (8-7), which becomes more and more consistent when Kaziyski and Lisinac capitalize two rebuilds (11-8). Junior Nery Tambeiro, Minas coach, seeks refuge in a time-out but at the restart it's still the yellow-blue team who pushes hard (14-9), with Matey unstoppable from position 4. The run to the first set victory is also facilitated by the Brazilians' errors (at the net and at the line for 17-12); only in the end does the Italian action decrease slightly in intensity (20-18, Estrada Mazorra's block on Kaziyski), but without ever but in jeopardy the result (23-19 and 25-21 with two consecutive points by Podrascanin).
The second set restarts in the spirit of balance; Trentino Itas tries to run away (4-2), but is immediately taken back by Itambé (5-6 and 7-7), which in position 4 lines up Coelho in place of Paulo Vinicios. The point-to-point struggle goes on for a long time (10-11, 13-12, 15-15); the yellow-blue team would have several times a chance on the counterattack to stretch but do not take advantage of it. It is then up to Sbertoli (ace for 20-18) to offer +2, then an error by the other setter of the match (Resley) allows Trento to fly to +3 (22-19). A margin that the serves of the returning Paulo Vinicios (two aces) put at great risk (24-23), before Podrascanin failed to score the 25-23 point that would have made it 2-0.
Minas tried to make its voice heard at the beginning of the third set, taking advantage of a new drop in the yellow-blue team’s reception (3-6); Lorenzetti's squad sniffed the danger and immediately restarted with Michieletto (6-6). In the middle section of the set, the yellow-blue team dig the difference with block and sere (10-8 and 13-9); it is the cue that effectively closes the match, because thereafter Itambé struggles to pass and Lorenzetti's team moves fast and sure to a 3-0 lead (17-10, 20-15, 25-18).
