SuperLega, on Saturday in Civitanova Marche the direct match for third place

The sixteenth round of the regular season of SuperLega Credem Banca 2022/23 will be played this coming weekend. After those played in Menen and Cisterna di Latina in the last ten days, Itas Trentino will face a further away appointment, visiting reigning Italian Champions Cucine Lube Civitanova in the advance scheduled for Saturday 21th January. At the Eurosuole Forum kick-off scheduled for 6 pm; live on Rai Sport + (channel 58 DGTV), Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on the OTT Volleyball World Tv platform.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO In the Marche region, the yellow-blue will face the direct match for third place (both teams occupy it, paired on 26 points), seeking for their first SuperLega victory in 2023, useful to resume the race in the regular season where they haven't won since last December 26th
"It is an appointment full of meanings, both from the point of view of the rankings and from the mental and technical point of view - explained coach Angelo Lorenzetti on the eve of the match - . Both teams need to turn the page compared to previous matches and, as often happens in these cases, the winner will be the one who manages to turn the eve's expectations into positive energy. For our part, we know perfectly well how difficult it is to get a result at the Eurosuole Forum, but at the same time we know that we need success to continue pursuing the goals we set at the beginning of the season. This can only happen through a good approach, but we will need to give continuity to our action throughout the match; we will give our best".
Itas Trentino completed their preparation for the match this morning at the BLM Group Arena and will reach Civitanova Marche in the early evening. On Saturday evening Trentino Volley will play the 971st men's match in its history, the 527th away match (balance of 323 wins and 203 losses), the 565th in the regular season.
THE OPPONENTS Coming from three defeats in their last four matches between the Coppa Italia and the regular season, Cucine Lube Civitanova await their home match against Trento to try and turn over a new leaf in a month of January that has so far been lacking in satisfaction (the only success was the 3-0 win in Lisbon in the Champions League) and to defend the third position in the standings currently held for a long time in recent months. Blengini's red-and-whites have struggled more than in the recent past to impose their law in front of their own public, as demonstrated by the home defeats against Padova, Monza and Perugia, although they have achieved important results, as demonstrated by the victories against Modena and Verona. Among the strengths of the roster, in addition to players of absolute level such as De Cecco, Zaytsev and World Champions Anzani and Balaso, is a roster rich in alternatives in every area of the court. The coach can also avail himself of Gabi Garcia for the opposite role, while as hitters there are Yant, Bottolo and Nikolov competing for two starting spots.
THE BACKGROUND The previous match between Trentino Volley and Cucine Lube has become a classic in the Italian championship over time, having featured no less than eight Finals: two Play Offs (2012 and 2017), three in Coppa Italia (2012, 2013 and 2017), two in Supercoppa (2009 and 2013) and one international event (2018). Civitanova is also along with Modena the only opponent that Trener Street’s club has always faced in all its two twenty-three seasons of activity and is the one with which it boasts the highest number of previous official matches: 89 (Modena is second with 81). The tally is in favour of the Cucine Lube players by 51-38, mainly due to the recent consecutive victories imposed by them, who have won eighteen of the last twenty-four previous matches. Trentino Volley has managed to win in eleven of the thirty-seven away-matches, conquering the Eurosuole Forum in two of the last six circumstances (March 28th, 2021 and April 14th, 2022). The tie break has been the solution in as many as thirty-five of the ninety matches already played; by far the most often occurring result (38% of cases) and the one that also materialised in the most recent game both in Marche (April 27th) and in Trentino (October 20th): in both cases the red-and-whites players won the game.
THE REFEREES. The match will be managed by Ilaria Vagni (from Perugia, in Serie A since 2003 and international since 2014), and Rossella Piana (from Carpi - Modena, on the roster since 2006 and international since 2014), both in their ninth SuperLega match of the season. The last previous match with Trentino Volley for Vagni curiously dates back to a match played in Civitanova Marche (Game 5 of the Scudetto Play Off semifinals, lost in the tie break on April 27th); while for Piana it dates back to April 21st, 2022, again at the Eurosuole Forum and precisely with the Vagni itself (defeated in three sets in game 3 of the Play Off semifinals).
RADIO, INTERNET AND TV The match will be a global media event, enjoying simultaneous live coverage on television, radio and the Internet. On the small screen it will be broadcast by RAI Sport +, a channel present on the digital terrestrial platform at number 58. Live coverage is planned on Radio Dolomiti, media partner of Trentino Volley. Frequencies to listen to the regional network can be found at www.radiodolomiti.com, where it will also be possible to follow the radio report in live streaming. The live video streaming on the OTT platform "Volleyball World Tv" is also confirmed, the service is for a fee. For more in-depth information on the use of the same consult the site www.welcome.volleyballworld.tv/faq-it.
On TV the match recap will be aired on Monday, January 23rd at 9:40 p.m., on RTTR - partner TV of Trener Street’s Society. Eventually, on the Internet point-to-point updates will be edited by the website of the Italian Volley League Serie A (www.legavolley.it) and by www.trentinovolley.it itself and will always be active on the yellow-blue’s team social networks (www.trentinovolley.it/facebook, www.trentinovolley.it/instagram and www.trentinovolley.it/twitter).
