New 3-2 comeback win over Allianz: Itas Trentino secures its place in Coppa Italia Final

The second tie-break victory in the last six days against Allianz Milan opens the door to a new Coppa Italia final for Trentino Volley, the ninth ever. Itas Trentino won it this evening at the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome, again in a comeback (from 0-2 to 3-2) in the second semi-final of the 2023 edition, thus reaching Piacenza (surprisingly on the score-sheet in the afternoon with a 3-0 win over Perugia) in the last round. The one to be played on Sunday at 4 p.m. in Rome will therefore be the fourth Final of a competition in the last twelve months for the yellow-blue club, also taking into account the two internationals played during 2022 (Champions League and World Club Championship); Kaziyski and his teammates got the pass by showing that they have character to spare, skilfully combined with great athletic and technical condition. Thanks to these key points, in fact, Itas Trentino managed to comeback after losing the first set (closed in the advantages only on 33-35) and the second set at a sprint in front of a Milan that had found in Loser and Ishikawa two excellent interpreters of its convincing start; from the third, also thanks to the exit from the match of the Japanese player, the script changed radically: Kaziyski (at the end 27 points with 66% in attack) and Michieletto (23 with 53%, one block and three aces) took the team on their shoulders and dragged it towards the tie-break at the end of two partials dominated from the beginning to the end like the third and fourth periods, almost without errors (only three errors at the net in five sets). In the tie break it was once again the legendary captain who made the difference and delivered the pass for yet another final of his career in the yellow-blue jersey.
