Padova, Lorenzetti: "Initially we struggled to get into the match"

“Initially we struggled to get into the match, also due to our own demerits, suffering at the sideout phase even on the opponents' jump float serves," commented Itas Trentino coach Angelo Lorenzetti after the match. “After that, the contest became even more balanced and we were good at getting properly into the battle atmosphere, closing the attacks on break points when needed to win the last three sets. We weren't always very precise on set pieces, but in any case we knew it would be difficult to get the better of a team like Padova that had great motivation to try and get salvation points. I did not expect a different match from the one we actually played, and we are all the more happy to have collected the entire stake".
Itas Trentino will now continue its journey in the direction of Kedzierzyn-Kozle (Poland), where on Tuesday 7th March at 20.30 they will play the first leg of the quarter-finals of the 2023 CEV Champions League against the hosts. In SuperLega, on the other hand, the closest match is the one on 12th March with Modena, to be played at 6 p.m. at the BLM Group Arena (last round of the regular season).
