SuperLega, Itas Trentino ends regular season in 2nd place thanks to 3-0 win over Modena

Itas Trentino closes the first phase of its championship with the best possible result still attainable; the 3-0 imposed this evening at the BLM Group Arena on Valsa Group Modena in the traditional A22 derby in fact allowed the yellow-blue team to keep that second place that Lorenzetti's team had long pursued in the regular season return leg and regained already last weekend, thanks to the external success in Padova.
Today's affirmation, against an opponent like the one from Emilia that was chasing at a single length distance and that had risen in Trento to try to make the overtake right at the finish line, will therefore allow Trentino Volley to face the upcoming Play Off Scudetto as the second seed in the final table, challenging Monza in the quarterfinals at the best of five games, with three games of the series (the first on March 19) to be played in front of its own public.
Tonight the fans played an instrumental role in propelling their favorites to their fourth win of the season over Modena, which came at the end of a convincing match throughout the three sets. With particularly incisive service and attack (in the end 7 aces and 62% as a team), the home lineup immediately channeled the match on the desired tracks, ramping up in the second half of the first partial thanks to Kaziyski (6 points in the first period alone, 14 in total: best scorer with 71%, two blocks and two aces) and controlling the opponent well in the middle part of the second thanks to a Super Michieletto (8 points with 69% and two aces). Having obtained the security of the placement thanks to the 2-0 home win, Lorenzetti then offered space to his bench, but without changing the attitude of his team; in the third set, the various Nelli, Džavoronok and Cavuto in fact dragged the yellow-blue to the comeback (4-7, 18-20) and to the final 3-0 that made the beautiful BLM Group Arena explode this evening. The best way to get closer to the Playoffs but also to the return leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.

Below is the scoreboard of the match valid for the 22nd and final day of the regular season of SuperLega Credem Banca 2022/23 played tonight at the BLM Group Arena.
