Play Off, Saturday back on court at the Blm Group Arena for game 3 of the quarter finals

Game 3 of the quarterfinals of the Play Off Scudetto SuperLega Credem Banca 2023 will be played on Saturday, March 25th at the BLM Group Arena. After the defeat suffered on Wednesday in Brianza, Itas Trentino returns to face Vero Volley Monza in front of their home crowd. The kick-off is scheduled at 8.30 pm. Live on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on the OTT Volleyball World Tv platform.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO After having faced Game 3 with a reduced staff due to the unavailability or less than perfect condition of five of the fourteen players in the roster, the yellow-blue line-up will be back in front of their fans to try and gain the lead in the series once again. The chances of doing so also depend on the recovery of a few players; from this point of view, setters Daniele Lavia and Oreste Cavuto can now be considered fully recovered, but Marko Podrascanin and Alessandro Michieletto are also recovering. Reservations about their use will, however, only be reasonably cleared on the immediate eve of the match, after training late this afternoon and finishing on Saturday morning.
"The first two matches offered very different stories and scenarios, even if only looking at the individual sets played" Angelo Lorenzetti emphasized as he presented the third match against Monza in the space of six days; "I can therefore speculate that the next match may still have something different in store, especially taking into account that we will have to understand what set-up we will face it with. My hope is to have the largest number of players at our disposal and then choose the line-up that will give us the most guarantees, knowing that we are facing an opponent in great shape and further stimulated by the victory obtained in game 2. It will be another battle and we must be ready to fight it at our best.”
On this occasion, Srecko Lisinac will pick up his 200th token in just under five seasons in Trento; with 1,864 points, the Serbian middle player is the sixth all-time leading scorer for the yellow-blue club, the second highest in his position behind Birarelli (2,539). Game 3 will be the 42nd match of the yellow-blue season, the 17th home victory.
NINE VICTORIES AND THREE DEFEATS IN THE PREVIOUS TWELVE "GAME 3" OF THE  QUARTERFINALS In the previous nineteen participations in the Playoffs Scudetto Trentino Volley has already played twelve times the Game 3 of the quarterfinals, collecting nine victories and three defeats. The victories are related to the 2003 and the 2006 editions, always a 3-2 victory over Modena, the 3-2 win over Vibo (2009), 3-0 win over Verona (2010), 3-0 win over San Giustino (2011), 3-0 win over Molfetta (2016), 3-0 win over Verona (2018), 3-0 win over Padova (2020) and 3-0 win over Piacenza (2022); while the defeats were 0-3 defeat over Perugia (2003), 1-3 defeat with Piacenza (2004) and 2-3 defeat with Cuneo (2007). Saturday's game for the Trener Street’s Club will be the 135th match ever in the Playoffs (tally: 78 vistories and 56 defeats); the 71st match at the BLM Group Arena, where in the quarterfinals Trentino Volley hasn’t lost in an home match for nine years (0-3 defeat against Modena in Game 1, on March 27th, 2014).
THE OPPONENTS Vero Volley Monza comes back to Trento, six days after the Game 1, galvanized by the victory, just the third in its entire history against the yellow-blue club, obtained on Wednesday night that allowed Vero Volley to bring the quarterfinal series back to a draw. To conquer the access to the Play Off semi finals (a goal reached only once in its history, during the  2020/21 season) Eccheli's team will once again rely on opposite player Grozer (best scorer in both two first games, with a total of 50 personal points), Beretta's blocks and the game management of Brazilian setter Kreling "Cachopa," who in Game 2 played his first match entirely as first-string in the Italian championship, showing an increasingly better understanding with all its strikers (a team’s 53%).
THE BACKGROUND On record, the two clubs boast twenty-six official games, with the tally clearly in favor of Trentino Volley (23-3), which prior to Wednesday's defeat had put together a streak of eight consecutive victories, including the two previous season's matches at the BLM Group Arena: 3-0 win on January 29th and 3-2 victory, last March 19th. At the Fersina Street’s facility, Monza has never won with fourteen defeats in as many matches played, with just ten sets won.
THE SERIE Itas Trentino and Vero Volley stand at 1-1 in the SuperLega Credem Banca 2023 Play Off Scudetto Quarter Final series, which will be played at the best-of-five matches, as a result of the 3-2 victory conquered at the BLM Group Arena during the Game 1 on March 19th (with sets of 25-16, 25-21, 13-25, 18-25 and 15-13); and the 3-1 victory for Monza in Game 2 played in Brianza on Wednesday (25-21, 25-15, 23- 25, 25-18). After Saturday's match, the teams will face each other again at the Monza Arena for Game 4 on Sunday, April 2nd, at 8:30 p.m. The potential tie-breaker, which will in any case award the pass to the semifinals to whoever wins it, will instead be played in Trentino on Saturday, on April 8th at 6 p.m. (dates and time to be confirmed). Whoever outdoes it through the round will find the winner of Modena-Piacenza (serie at 2-0) in the semifinals. The other two quarterfinals at the top of the scoreboard are Perugia-Milan (1-1) and Civitanova-Verona (0-2).
THE REFEREES The Game 3 will be managed by Alessandro Cerra (from Bologna, in Serie A since 2014) and Maurizio Canessa (from Bari, in the highest category since 2009), in their twelfth and eleventh matches of the season in SuperLega, respectively. Cerra’s last previous match with Trentino Volley dates back to a 1-3 defeat in a regular season match in Perugia on November 20th, 2022, while for Canessa, the most recent match dates back to 2-3 defeat in Cisterna di Latina (on January 16th).
