Play off Final Scudetto Game 3 scheduled for this Sunday at the BLM Group Arena

Game 3 of the Final Playoff Scudetto SuperLega Credem Banca 2023 will be played on Sunday May 7th. Itas Trentino will get on court in front of its public to try and win the series against Cucine Lube Civitanova (now on 1-1); it will be a best-of-five match. Kick off at 6 p.m.: live on RAI Sport HD, Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on OTT Volleyball World Tv platform.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO The yellow-blue team relies on the home-court advantage and its own public to try and move on last Thursday’s fifth set and conquer the series advantage again. The two teams start with a tie score, with the possibility to play two of the three possible games still in schedule at home. Kaziyski and his teammates have to use the field advantage in the best way possible, because only the game 3 winner will have the chance to win the championship title.
“The first two matches of the series were very different one from the other, but they gave us many turnarounds, not only in the score, but also from a technical point of view – presented coach Angelo Lorenzetti - . I appreciated the mental attitude of game 1, while in game 2 the reaction to a difficult start was crucial and allowed us to make it this far. The actual competition starts now; we have to be more than ready, to improve our ability to react to game situations and adapt ourselves to the fundamental moments of the match. Sunday’s winner will get two chances to secure the score. We obviously want to be the one to gain this advantage and we intend to do our best to succeed”.
Trento’s coach must do without Srecko Lisinac only, who is still dealing with low back problems, which forced him to leave game 1 and follow game 2 against Civitanova Marche from the bench: it will be the same this Sunday at the BLM Group Arena. For Trentino Volley it will be the 144th match in the Playoff Scudetto history (84 matches, 59 won), the 76th in front of its public, where it won 57 times.
THREE VISTORIES AND TWO DEFEATS IN THE PREVIOUS GAMES 3 FINALS Trentino Volley already competed five times (out of eight previous ones) in a game 3 of the Playoff Scudetto Final, gaining three victories and two defeats. The winning matches, all won for 3-0, were respectively played in 2008 series against Piacenza (a win that was also valid for the first Italian title), 2013 in a home match against Piacenza and in 2015 against Modena; the defeats go back to a 2-3 against Piacenza in 2009 and a 1-3 against Civitanova Marche in 2017. Via Trener society took also part four times a game 3 of Playoff Scudetto Final ending for 1-1: 2008, 2009 and 2013 editions against Piacenza and 2015 edition against Modena. Then, the championship victory came three times, but the team lost it in 2009.
THE OPPONENTS After game 2 success, Cucine Lube Civitanova will be back in Trento. Gianlorenzo Blengini’s team showed what it can do once again after game 1, proving to have some amazing skills to take the game’s leas, especially at serve. So, at the BLM Group Arena, the white-red team will do everything to conquer the away-victory it always got again (game 3 in the quarterfinals in Verona and game 4 in the semifinals in Milan).
BACKGROUND. Sunday’s match will be the 93d between the two societies, the seasonal fifth one; the total tally sees Lube ahead for 52-40, while this year’s tally counts a tie score (2-2), with one home match lost for both teams. Itas Trentino counts 21 successes out of 37 matches played against Civitanova at the BLM Group Arena, even if the opponent team conquered Trento arena in four out of eight most recent matches; the latest success goes back to October 22nd 2022 (2-3).
