The A22 pre-season derby brings spectacle and 4-0 win for the yellow-blue

The Itas Trentino men's team concluded their last week of preparation with an encouraging 4- 0 victory in the test match played this afternoon at the ilT quotidiano Arena in Trento against Modena. The A22 derby "joint training version" once again provided spectacle and emotions, as had happened twenty-one days ago in Schio, rewarding in this case the Italian champions, who were able to offer a generous and strong-willed performance in all the fundamentals (attack and defense in particular), which thrilled the large audience present (over 250 spectators).
Waiting to be able to count on the six players returning from the summer with the national team (they will join the group on Monday morning), the Gialloblù coach Fabio Soli can nevertheless smile for what was shown by those who played the entire pre-season activity in Trento.
Beyond the result, the hosts moved well on the court, constantly putting pressure on the opponent thanks to the excellent break-point phase proposed on this occasion, which was matched by a fluent ball change without any major flaws (just five errors in attack throughout the match). The contribution of the returning Cavuto (7 points with 64% attack in the first two sets played) made the attack front even more incisive on the high ball, where Rychlicki (13 with 62%) and Magalini (best scorer with 19 winning balls, 52% at the net, three blocks and an ace) confirmed the excellent impressions already made in the previous outings. Acquarone's inspired direction and the consistent contribution of Laurenzano in the second line and Berger in the middle contributed to tip the scales constantly on the side of Trentino, in a match characterized by balance in the first half of each set before the decisive extension of the hosts.
"The result is obviously a pleasure, but the satisfaction for today's performance refers above all to the technical content that we were able to offer," explained Fabio Soli at the end of the test match. "We needed to play against a team that could put us in difficulty in all areas of the game, and I think the group's response was very positive. All the more reason to thank all the players who took the field, and in particular the younger ones, because they knew how to interpret the test match in the right way. It's a good way to welcome the 'national team' that from next week will complete the squad". The yellow-blue will meet on Monday morning at the ilT quotidiano Arena to begin the last pre-season period, the first with the full squad. The run-up to the SuperLega debut on Sunday 22 October in Cisterna di Latina will also include a friendly, to be played on the afternoon of Wednesday 18 in Verona (6pm).
