Itas Trentino-Cisterna Volley 3-0, the match report

The match report. Itas Trentino is back on the tricolor mondoflex of the ilT quotidiano Arena in a standard lineup: Sbertoli as setter, Rychlicki as opposite, Michieletto and Lavia as spikers, Kozamernik and Podrascanin in the middle, Laurenzano as libero. Cisterna Volley responds with Baranowicz as setter, Faure as opposite, Ramon and Peric in area 4, Rossi and Nedeljkovic in the middle, Piccinelli as libero. The match starts balanced; we have to wait for a block by Rychlicki on 10-9 inside to see the first breakaway attempt, with the same opposite player who, a few moments later, also makes the ace worth +3 (13-10). Michieletto attacks, forcing the guests to take refuge in a time out on 14-10, but on resumption Trento concedes nothing, defending the lead until 21-17, before increasing it further with a winning serve by Alessandro and then with a pair of really very nice pipes by the same left-handed spiker (25-19).
More problematic, at least in the opening, is the second set, which Cisterna starts at full speed with the serve (2-4 and 6-9), forcing Soli to spend a time out. At resumption it was Sbertoli with the same weapon (the serve) to draw parity, then it was Lavia again from nine meters to build the first lead of the partial (12-10). In the middle part, it is Michieletto that makes the difference (17-13, two counterattacks to score), then Itas Trentino once again manages well the cue of its number 5 (23-20) to close without jolts this fraction too (25-20).
In the third set, it is always the serve that settles the respective break points (5-3 and 7-7); Faure nails a heavy rotation from the nine-meter line with four aces in five consecutive serves that push the guests ahead 7-11. The two almost consecutive time outs spent by Soli bring the desired reaction, as Trento revives with Rychlicki and Sbertoli (block and attack) for 11-12. Parity came at 14, then the yellow-blue team put the arrow in with Lavia and also widened the gap thanks to Magalini (20-18), who also had the merit of closing the game in a pipe (25-20), well cleared by Sbertoli.
