Rychlicki at "RTTR Volley": "We cannot relax, the championship is still long"

Itas Trentino men's opposite player Kamil Rychlicki was among the main protagonists of the weekly episode of "RTTR Volley." Here are some of the most interesting passages from the interview conducted by Cristiana Chiarani, who has been hosting the program since the beginning of February.

VOLLEYBALL IN FATE. "My parents played volleyball and I always wanted to imitate them even though I had also practiced karate for a year. Volleyball, however, was clearly in my destiny; I approached this discipline when I was eight years old and I immediately took on the role of spiker because I liked to attack, although in my career I also played libero and I am very proud of that".

HAIR. "Two years ago I completely changed my hairstyle; it was a decision that matured over a long period of time. Everyone has always been used to seeing me with very long, gathered hair, but I needed to move on, also from a personal point of view, and that’s how I did it. I am quite a thoughtful and rational person: that choice came after thinking about it for a few months".

TEAM. "Ours is a very interesting and competitive team, which perhaps lacked some experience in handling pressure in the recent Coppa Italia semifinal. I am convinced that even that defeat will help us grow in our season-long journey. We are a very cohesive group, there are a lot of easy-going and nice people, and the Club is very organized, not letting us lack anything. Together with Kozamernik I was the only new member of the sextet, and yet there were no problems settling in, I quickly found the feeling. The most likeable one? Laurenzano is definitely the one who makes me laugh the most".

MONZA. "Before last Saturday's match in Brianza we charged up, reminding ourselves of our goals and accepting that the path is not always linear. I think it served us to restart in a convincing way; and that’s what happened, even though it was not at all a given, because Mint Vero Volley during this season has played many good matches, especially against the big teams. We are happy that the 3-0 success allowed us to increase our lead in the standings to six points, but we certainly cannot relax; the championship is still long and more difficult matches are on our way. We have to think about every single game and be ready to respond to the pressure that any opponent will subject us to. Our next challenge, this Saturday in Catania, is going to be really though in my opinion, because we will play in an arena that we do not know well, against an opponent that is seeking salvation and that will take the court to give battle, as it should".

RESPONSIBILITIES. "Replacing Kaziyski in the role of opposite player was not a burden because I am different from Matey, even in the way I play. I certainly feel a strong responsibility to play with the jersey bearing the Scudetto, as well as to play home matches on the tricolour court. I always try to do my best to honour both".

NATIONAL TEAM. "Playing next summer with the Italian national team jersey will be a bit complicated, because at the moment from the point of view of the Fivb I am not suitable. I am sorry, but I will wait for my moment, when it actually comes".

SOLI. "Fabio's personality fits perfectly with this kind of group. He has the right character to coach the players he has at his disposal, who are mostly young, and I'm also getting along well with him".
