Play Off, Itas Trentino wins again in Modena and flies to 2-0 in the quarter-final series

The Credem Banca 2024 Scudetto Play Off quarterfinal series continues again in the sign of Itas Trentino. Four days after the beautiful and peremptory victory in game 1, this afternoon the Italian Champions have granted the encore also at the PalaPanini in Modena, securing 3-2 also the second act of the best-of-five match against Valsa Group.
A result that brings Fabio Soli's team with merit to 2-0, just one victory away from the possible qualification to the Semifinals of the draw that assigns the men's championship. To earn three chances to close the account (the first in a week's time in Trento), Podrascanin and his team-mates threw their hearts over the obstacle, managing to climb back up in a scoreline situation that, after an authoritative first set, had become increasingly complicated. In fact, the second set lost in the advantages had clearly shifted the needle of the scales towards the Emilian side, with Valsa becoming absolute masters of the court during the third period. Down 1-2, with a set lost decisively 15-25, the tricolour players were however able to turn the page, winning the fourth set with personality and overturning a 9-12 in 15-13 during a subsequent tie break at the heartbreak. Recovery and affirmation at the sprint to the finish line that bore the signature of Michieletto (Trentino's best scorer with 20 points, 53% in attack, two blocks and as many ace), who was decisive with his service turn at 13-13 in the fifth period (a direct point and an error at the net by Rinaldi favoured by a loose reception), Lavia (16 with 52%), and the rock solid block seen this afternoon in Emilia, which scored 16 times (6 by Kozamernik and 3 by Podrascanin). All heart and grit also for Acquarone (increasingly at ease on court), Laurenzano and Rychlicki (15).
Here is the scoreboard of game 2 of the quarterfinals of the Play Off Scudetto SuperLega Credem Banca 2024 played this afternoon at PalaPanini in Modena.
