Play Off Scudetto, in the semifinals for the 16th time in yellow-blue history

Thanks to the success this evening in game 3 against Modena, Itas Trentino has gained access to the Play Off Scudetto SuperLega Credem Banca 2024 semifinals. The one that will open on Sunday 31 March at the ilT quotidiano Arena will be the sixteenth Play Off semi final in the twenty-four years of activity of the club from via Trener, the fifteenth in the last sixteen editions of the postseason phase.
Previously, this goal had already been reached in the 2005/06, 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2020/21 (after one year of Play Off absence due to the pandemic), 2021/22 and 2022/23: in the first two cases qualification came by eliminating Modena, in three games (2-1) in 2006 and in two in 2008; in the third to give way to Itas Diatec Trentino was Vibo Valentia (beaten 3-0), in the fourth Verona (again 3-0), in the fifth San Giustino (3-0), in the sixth to surrender was the San Giustino-Roma pair with a double 3-0, in the seventh again Vibo Valentia (3-0), in the eighth and ninth Molfetta (2-0 and 3-2), in the tenth Monza (2-0), in the eleventh again Verona (2-1), in the twelfth eliminating Padova (2-1), in the thirteenth and fourteenth Piacenza (2-0 and 2-1), in the fifteenth Monza (3-1).
On nine occasions Trentino Volleyball subsequently won the pass to the finals: it happened in the 2008 playoffs, when it overcame M. Roma Volleyball, in the 2009 playoffs, where it eliminated Cuneo from the title race with three victories in as many matches, in the 2010 playoffs by defeating Macerata 3-1, in the 2011 playoffs by defeating Modena after five hard-fought matches (3-2), in the 2012 playoffs by defeating Latina in two matches (double 3-0), in 2013 by defeating Cuneo 3-0, in 2015 by eliminating Perugia 2-1, in 2017 by defeating Perugia 3-2 and in 2023 by defeating Piacenza in game 5. In 2006, however, the Trentino team's adventure ended there at the hands of Sisley Treviso, victorious in four games, while in 2016 the Gialloblù's run was stopped by Modena, ahead in four games (1-3), in 2018 it was Perugia (then champion) in five games (2-3), while in 2019, 2021 and 2022 it was Civitanova (then champion) who got the better of them in four and five games (1-3, 1-3 and 2-3).
Overall in the Scudetto Play Off semi finals Trentino Volleyball has already played fifty-seven matches, winning thirty-one: eleven away (two in Macerata, Civitanova and Cuneo, one in Modena, Treviso, Rome, Piacenza and Frosinone) and twenty at home (against Latina, Rome, seven times with Perugia, three times with Modena, Cuneo and Lube, two with Piacenza).
