Play Off, Itas Trentino fights hard but must concede game 4 to Milan

Itas Trentino's run in the 2024 Play Offs ended in game 4 of the Final for the 3rd place. Losing 1-3 at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, the Italian champions had to give way to the hosts, ending their ride in the Italian championship right below the podium. The pass for participation to the 2025 CEV Champions League, guaranteed to those who won the bronze medal in the final table, therefore goes to Allianz Milano, but Trentino Volley (who will play the CEV Cup next season) will still have the opportunity to bid farewell to the top continental club competition in the best possible way, playing the Final of the 2024 edition on May 5 in Antalya against the Polish Jastrzebski Wegiel team.
At the challenge that will award the title of European Champion, Trentino Itas will come with 47 official matches this season and all the indications (positive and negative) gathered in the last period and especially in the series against Milan. Saturday night’s result was again far too severe for a team like Soli's that, after a bad start, tried to climb back up the slope by playing to the maximum of their current possibilities. Having won the second set by leaps and bounds, and having lost the first set after failing to recover from Allianz Milano’s initial breakaway, Itas Trentino also fought hard in the third and fourth set, thanks to Kozamernik's outbursts (five of the team's 11 winning blocks were his) and those of Michieletto (his team's best scorer with 19 points). It wasn't enough to take the contest at least to the tie-break, because Podrascanin and his team-mates found themselves facing an unstoppable Ishikawa; with 28 personal points (20 in the last two sets), the Japanese player guided Allianz through all the delicate phases of the match, leading them by the hand towards the prestigious goal.

Below is the scoreboard of game 4 of the Final 3rd Place Play Off Credem Banca 2024 played Saturday night at the Allianz Cloud in Milan.
