Supercoppa 2024, an Itas Trentino with great character in Florence

The twenty-fifth season of Trentino Volleyball immediately starts with the chance to play a Final for Itas Trentino men's team. By beating Vero Volley Monza 3-0 this evening at Palazzo Wanny, the European Champion team has in fact gained access to the match that, on Sunday 22 September from 6 pm, will award the Del Monte® Supercoppa 2024 in Florence.
Opponents will be the Italian and World Champions Perugia in a match that promises to be spectacular and of the highest level. The yellow-blue won the right to play the second and final day of the Tuscan Final Four thanks to a lucid and effective performance, which confirmed that this group, despite having changed six-fourteenths of its roster compared to the past, has a strong identity and starts from a higher base than twelve months ago. On several occasions, such as during the middle of the first set, at 11-11 in the second set with the injury to Rychlicki's right ankle, and at the end of the third set (down 21-23), the match presented major obstacles, which Soli's team punctually managed to overcome thanks to great compactness and character. To the team's peculiarities must obviously be added individual qualities: Sbertoli, at his first time as captain, was precise and punctual at the direction, Lavia and Michieletto (30 points in two) removed the chestnuts from the fire in the top moments of the challenge, Gabi Garcia showed that he can be a very valuable and decisive change, as confirmed also by the statistical data. For the American opposite player, 11 winning balls with 75 percent attack and two aces in a set and a half played in place of a so far positive Rychlicki (7 with identical 75 per cent - physical condition to be assessed in view of upcoming commitments).

Below is the scoreboard of the second semi-final of the Del Monte® Supercoppa 2024, played this evening at Palazzo Wanny in Florence.
