Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza-Itas Trentino 1-3

Match Report. Itas Trentino arrives at the PalaBanca in Piacenza with their usual lineup (sold out for days: 3,450 spectators present): Sbertoli as setter, Rychlicki as opposite hitter, Michieletto and Lavia as outside hitters, Kozamernik and Flavio as middle blockers, Laurenzano as libero. Piacenza, without Kovacevic and Simon, fields Brizard as setter, Romanò as opposite hitter, Maar and Mandiraci as outside hitters, Galassi and Gueye as middle blockers, and Scanferla as libero. The yellow-blues start impressively in break point phase, thanks to a solid block: Flavio, Kozamernik, Sbertoli, and Lavia immediately score direct points in this fundamental aspect, allowing the visitors to quickly take the lead (6-1, 9-2). At 10-3 for Trentino, Anastasi has already exhausted the time-outs available for the first set, and at 12-4, he substitutes Andringa for Maar, who is struggling at the net. In the second part, the red-whites attempt to get into the game (21-10), but their comeback effort starts too late (23-17), and Rychlicki sends the teams to change sides at 25-18: an away advantage.
The contest becomes more balanced in the second set, with Piacenza holding the court well until 7-7, before Kozamernik's blocking and serving make significant impacts on the score (10-7 and then 15-12), well supported in attack by Michieletto. Gas Sales Bluenergy pauses the game and, upon resumption, finds a boost with the newly entered Bovolenta (substituting Romanò) to get back into the match (16-16 and 19-19). The yellow-blues accelerate again with Lavia, following an exchange where Laurenzano excels in defense (21-19), and they maintain their edge till the end, also taking advantage of an error at the net by Galassi to secure a 2-0 lead with a 25-22 score.
The reaction of the Emilian team comes true during the third set with Bovolenta (remained in the starter sextet) and Galassi intensified, helped by the returning Maar: it is immediately 2-5 and then 6-11, as Trento struggled in reception and, as a consequence, also in the side-out. Soli has already called two time-outs available and gets a response from his team after half of the partial (13-15) also thanks to two direct errors at the net by Bovolenta himself. Piacenza goes forward again with Maar (18-22), but the Emilian team is almost reached thanks to the services of Michieletto (two aces for 21-22). The home team makes an effort and, thanks to the useful side-outs, they win 22-25, going on with the game to the fourth set.
During this fourth set, Itas Trentino team returns to be the main protagonist, starting the match on fire (4-1 and 6-3) with Rychlicki, who carries the team on to +4 (10-6). Michieletto, with two aces, holds the opponents and their comeback off (from 12-10 to 16-12); this is the crucial spark because then Michieletto determines the advantage thanks to his attacks (21-18). Piacenza can’t get closer anymore, becoming very foul during the serving (25-22).
