Trentino Itas-C.S. Arcada Galati 3-0, the match report

Match Report. Trentino Itas returned to the ilT Quotidiano Arena in front of their home crowd ten days after their last appearance, fielding Sbertoli as setter, Rychlicki as opposite, Magalini and Lavia as outside hitters, Flavio and Kozamernik as middle blockers, and Laurenzano as libero. Alessandro Michieletto was rested but remained on the bench. C.S. Arcada Galati countered with Costantin as setter, Rata as opposite, Kavogo and Marshall as outside hitters, Butnaru and Freimanis as middle blockers, and Kosinski as libero.
An ace by Kozamernik broke the initial balance (7-4), followed by Rychlicki extending the lead with his attacks (10-6). Galati began to falter, committing errors that allowed Trentino to widen the gap, with Magalini’s powerful spikes further stretching the lead (14-8). Two consecutive blocks by Butnaru on Rychlicki briefly brought the Romanian team back into contention (15-12), but Kozamernik’s second ace (17-12) reestablished control, effectively sealing the set. From that point on, the outcome was never in doubt (21-15, 23-16, and 25-17), with Magalini continuing to shine.
After the court change, the visitors attempted a reaction (2-4), but their initial momentum quickly faded against Trentino's blocking and Rychlicki's serve (including an ace for the 7-6 lead). In the middle phase of the set, Trentino Itas extended their lead, accelerating (from 11-10 to 15-11) thanks in part to the Romanians' net errors.
The set was firmly under control, and the European Champions only needed to keep their opponents at a safe distance (20-15, with Lavia scoring twice in a row) to swiftly secure a 2-0 lead. The set ended 25-20, guaranteeing Trentino Itas their spot in the Round of 16 before the match was even completed.
With the objective achieved, coach Fabio Soli made significant rotations, introducing Acquarone as setter, Gabi Garcia as opposite, Pellacani as middle blocker, Pesaresi as libero, and Bristot in the outside hitter position. It was the serve of young outside hitter Bristot that allowed Trentino to quickly pull ahead in style (from 3-1 to 8-1).
The yellow-and-blue team raced toward the 3-0 win, as Arcada seemed to fade from the match (12-4, 16-9, and 21-12). Gabi Garcia and Pellacani also shone, with Pellacani scoring his first points with the senior team (two attacks and one block). The 3-0 victory was sealed with an ace by Magalini, who was named MVP of the match, finishing at 25-16.
