Fivb Club World Championship, 3-0 in the italian derby: Trentino Itas in the Final again!

A new appointment with history, for Italian volleyball and sports! This evening, Trentino Itas secured this opportunity at the Arena Sabiazinho in Uberlândia by defeating Cucine Lube Civitanova 3-0 in the Italian derby of the 2024 Club World Championship semifinal. Thanks to the convincing victory over their compatriots, the yellow-blue team will be able to play in a new World Championship Final on Sunday, December 15, starting at 18:30 in Brazil, aiming for their sixth World Champion title. Their opponent will be Sada Cruzeiro, in a rematch of the 2012 final held in Doha.
Trentino Volley has earned a place in what will be their seventh world final in just under twenty-five years of activity, by playing concrete and effective volleyball in Uberlândia. They did not need a strong serve (only one direct ace) to accelerate and secure the first and third sets. The excellent work done in blocking (10 successful blocks) and defense, along with their usual efficiency in attack (48% team efficiency with just five errors), allowed the yellow-blues to lead the sets and recover a three-point deficit midway through the second period (13-16), turning it into a 28-26 that effectively subdued Lube. Credit goes to the strong performance at the net by four attackers, all finishing in double figures: Michieletto (58%) and Rychlicki (52%) scored 13 points each, Flavio (73% with 2 blocks) and Lavia (4 blocks) scored ten each.
