SuperLega, Itas Trentino's run resumes with a 3-1 victory in Taranto

After two and a half weeks of focusing solely on international competitions (CEV Cup and Club World Championship), Itas Trentino returned to the Italian league this evening, immediately rediscovering their winning touch that had been missing in the regular season since November 27th (a 3-0 home victory over Padova). Tonight, the European Champions concluded a three-week period that saw them play nine consecutive away games in the best possible way, defeating PalaMazzola in Taranto 3-1 in the match valid for the thirteenth round of SuperLega Credem Banca 2024/25.
The result confirms the recent positive tradition against the Ionics, who have not beaten the yellow-blues since returning to the top category (2020/21 season), but more importantly, it allows Soli's team to stay on Perugia's tail and keep a safe distance from the nearest chasers. To secure the entire prize, however, the yellow-blues had to struggle, overcoming the staunch resistance of the locals, who made life very hard for their opponents in the first three sets. The consistent attacking performance of the entire team (54%), Michieletto's sharp serves (4 aces) and attacks (57%) for a total of 21 points (MVP), Rychlicki's contributions (15 points at 54%), and the complete performance of the central pair Flavio-Bartha (24 winning points between them) allowed Trento to come out of a problematic situation in the third set at 1-6. The exit of Pugliese opposite Gironi due to injury in that same set facilitated the yellow-blues' task, as former player Lanza (19 points) found himself too alone to counter Trento's action.

Below is the score sheet for the match of the thirteenth round of the SuperLega Credem Banca 2024/25 regular season played this evening at the PalaMazzola in Taranto.
