SuperLega: on boxing day, Itas Trentino makes no gifts: 3-0 win over Milan

The return to the ilT Quotidiano Arena, after a month-long absence and nine consecutive away matches, was marked by a decisive victory for Itas Trentino Men's Volleyball. This evening, the European Champions and World Championship runners-up were reunited with their passionate fanbase (4,000 spectators, another "sold out" of the season), whom they hadn’t seen since November 27. They triumphed 3-0 over Allianz Milano in the traditional insurance derby played on Saint Stephen's Day, valid for the fourteenth round of the SuperLega Credem Banca regular season.
Despite the typically festive atmosphere, the yellow-and-blues gave little to no gifts to their opponents, delivering a very convincing approach to the match (which led them to a dominant win in the first set). They also showed their ability to bounce back when things weren’t going well. In the second set, in fact, Soli's team found themselves trailing 11-15 during the guests' best moment, but once again proved they had the quality to shift the momentum of the set. With an effective serve and a highly aggressive and error-free attacking front (10 aces with just 11 errors and a 54% hitting efficiency with only two attacks out), Trento won that period in a sprint and then managed the next one well, closing the match with a well-deserved 3-0 victory that keeps them in touch with Perugia (who won today against Modena). Once again, the match MVP was Michieletto (best scorer with 17 points, 77% attack efficiency, two blocks, and five aces), well supported by a solid Lavia when needed and a versatile Bartha contributing in all fundamentals.

Below is the summary of the match valid for the fourteenth round of the SuperLega Credem Banca 2024/25 regular season played this evening at the ilT quotidiano Arena in Trento.
