SuperLega, the 4,000 fans at the ilT quotidiano Arena push Itas Trentino

A feverish Saturday evening, full of emotions and reversals of fortune experienced until the last moment by the 4,000 spectators present, has projected the Itas Trentino men's team to the (provisional) first place in the SuperLega Credem Banca 2024/25 standings. The success obtained on this occasion in the tie-break at the ilT quotidiano Arena, packed with people (third sellout of the season), against the historic rival Piacenza has indeed propelled the European Champion team to the top of the standings. The two points obtained today in the comeback (from 0-2 to 3-2) have allowed them to reach the summit alongside Perugia, which can respond Sunday evening in the match to be played at Grottazzolina, having always played one more game.
Regardless of their leadership in the league, the yellow-blue team will leave for France in the early afternoon with valuable insights from the 19th round of the regular season. During this match, they battled against Piacenza for over two hours, showing character and the will to fight even in the worst moments. After falling behind 0-2 due to two inconsistent sets, the home team gradually made their comeback, starting in the third set. This comeback was marked by strong blocking (nine successful blocks in the second half of the game), improved serving (eight of the nine aces were made from the third set onward), and powerful attacks from Lavia and Rychlicki, each scoring 22 points. The Calabrian spiker was relentless in the side-out phase, with a 60% success rate at the net, also contributing two blocks and two service points. The Luxembourgish opposite player excelled after starting on the bench, with crucial plays and a 61% attack success rate. His performance earned him the MVP award of a match in which he battled against Piacenza's Turkish player, Mandiraci (21).

Below are the scoreboards of the match valid for the nineteenth day of the regular season of SuperLega Credem Banca 2024/25 played tonight at the ilT quotidiano Arena in Trento.
