Itas Trentino-Cisterna Volley 3-1, the match 1 report

The Game 1 Chronicle. Itas Trentino took the court with their standard lineup in front of their home crowd: Sbertoli as setter and Rychlicki as opposite, Michieletto and Lavia as wing spikers, Kozamernik and Flavio at middle blocker, and Laurenzano as libero. Cisterna Volley countered with Baranowicz as setter, Faure as opposite, Ramon and Bayram as outside hitters, Mazzone and Nedeljkovic as middle blockers, and Pace as libero. The match began evenly, with the visitors holding their ground from the start (3-3 and 6-6), preventing any early attempts by the home team to break away. Bayram’s diagonal shot gave Cisterna a 7-9 lead, but Rychlicki quickly equalized at 10 with his serve and counterattack. The home team struggled to maintain consistency in their sideout phase but didn’t allow their opponents further opportunities to pull ahead (13-13). A block from Flavio gave Trentino a two-point lead (16-14), and Lavia extended it to 18-15. However, it wasn’t decisive, as the Pontine team quickly recovered with their blocking (18-18) and stayed close until the final stages (20-20 and 22-22). A break point by Michieletto earned two set points at 24-22, and Trentino capitalized on the second, with Bayram’s service error sealing the 25-23 victory.
The second set also started evenly (5-5), but errors by Mazzone and a block by Kozamernik on Faure (9-6) forced the visitors into a timeout. Cisterna continued to hold their ground (12-10), but the Slovenian middle blocker doubled the lead with a serve to make it 14-10. Later, Michieletto (with another ace) and Lavia (with a block) kept the Pontine team at a safe distance (18-14 and 20-16). The set ended quickly at 25-19, as Cisterna faltered under the relentless break-point pressure from Michieletto and Rychlicki.
In the third set, Itas Trentino immediately starts on a good pace (5-3 and 9-5), taking full advantage of all its spikers. Falasca tries to make a tactical retreat, changing the entire setter-opposite diagonal (between Fanizza and Czerwinski), but the home team does not stop sinking the shot (14-6) and fly fast towards the 3-0 (17-8, 20-8 and 25-14), which highlights the signature of Rychlicki (other title of mvp), to which Soli grants the early pass by alternating it with Gabi Garcia (immediately scored twice).
