Cisterna di Latina (Latina), 26 March 2025
Playoffs, Cisterna defeated 3-1 at home in game 4: Itas Trentino reaches the semifinals!

The sixth win of the season (out of seven matches played) against Cisterna Volley opens the doors to the seventeenth Italian Championship Semifinals (out of twenty-two total participations) for the Itas Trentino men's team. By defeating Cisterna 3-1 at home tonight, just as they did on September 29 in the first round of the regular season, the team from Trento has closed the account in the Quarterfinals series in Game 4. This earns them the opportunity to work in the gym without playing additional matches over the next ten days before the start of the Semifinals against Piacenza (April 6, also best of five with three home matches).
The first of two opportunities to advance past the opening round of the final bracket was capitalized on tonight in Lazio by Sbertoli and his teammates, who also redeemed themselves from the setback suffered at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Cisterna on March 16. However, today's match did not start well, with Cisterna imposing its frenetic pace between serves and counterattacks in the first set, putting Itas Trentino on the ropes. The team from Trento had to draw on all its technical and temperamental qualities to reverse the situation. With attentive blocking and increasingly incisive serving, accompanied by a gradual but constant increase in attack percentages, the yellow-blues managed to take a 2-1 lead and had the energy to secure the exhausting fourth set, resolved at the advantage after a point-for-point battle in the second half of the same.
The trio of Michieletto (16 points with 48% in attack, two blocks, and an ace: MVP of the match), Rychlicki (16 with 55% and three winning serves, all in the third set), and Lavia (13 with 48% and two blocks) led their teammates to victory after a difficult first set and, well served by Sbertoli, demonstrated the right coolness to prevent the contest from going to a tiebreaker. Cisterna, before definitively giving up, also had a set point in the fourth period but failed to capitalize on it.
The following is the table of game 4 of the quarter-finals of the Play Off Scudetto SuperLega Credem Banca 2025 played tonight at the Palazzetto dello Sport of Cisterna di Latina.
