Playoffs: Trentino and Piacenza meet again in the Semifinals, just like in 2023

Itas Trentino will face Piacenza in the 2025 Credem Banca Scudetto Playoff Semifinals, a best-of-five series. Today's victory by the Trentino team in Cisterna di Latina secured the semifinal matchup, setting up a renewed clash with the Emilian side. Thanks to their superior standing in the 2024/25 regular season, Trentino Volley will benefit from home court advantage in three out of the potential five matches.

In the penultimate round of the Scudetto Playoffs, Trentino Volley will once again take on Piacenza—a familiar postseason opponent. The two teams have already met seven times in the Playoffs: three times in the Finals (2008, 2009, 2013 – two wins for Trentino), once in the Semifinals (2023 – won by Trentino), and three times in the Quarterfinals (2005, 2021, 2022 – two wins for Trentino). With the exception of the 2021 edition, every series between the two sides has gone the distance, requiring a decisive fifth match to determine the winner.
