Playoffs Scudetto: Itas Trentino wins at the tie-break also in Piacenza!

The 2025 Credem Banca Scudetto Playoff Semifinal series continues in the sign of the fifth set and Itas Trentino team. After last week’s tie-break win in Game 1, tonight the Gialloblù team gave an encore with the same score in Game 2 of the best-of-five series, played at PalabancaSport in Piacenza in front of over 3,500 spectators.
This result puts Sbertoli and his teammates up 2-0, just one win away from potentially qualifying for what would be Trentino Volley's tenth Scudetto Final in its history.
To earn themselves three chances to close out the series (the first already on Thursday night at the ilT Quotidiano Arena), coach Soli’s team brought all the energy, character, and determination they had to this match. They approached the match well and kept being calm both when the home team convincingly won the second set and when they extended the challenge to the fifth partial, winning the fourth period in a comeback. The tie-break was hard-fought up to 6-5 for the home team, but then Trento took full control of the match, thanks to the class and charisma of Michieletto (24 points with 62% in attack, one block, and two aces: mvp), the continuity at the net of Rychlicki (19 points with 48%), the bursts of brilliance from Lavia (11), and the clarity of mind with which Sbertoli, the team captain, and Laurenzano led the team in their respective roles. Ultimately, the difference also came down to errors: Itas Trentino committed only 21 (18 on serve, 3 in attack), compared to 37 for Piacenza (25 on serve, 12 at the net).
