On Thursday in Civitanova Marche game 2 of the 2025 Scudetto Playoffs Final

Game 2 of the SuperLega Credem Banca 2025 Scudetto Playoff Finals will be played on Thursday, May 1 at the Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova Marche. Itas Trentino willvisit Cucine Lube, holding a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series. The match is scheduled to start at 6:15 PM, with live coverage on RAI Sport, Radio Dolomiti, and streaming on DAZN and VBTV.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO After winning Game 1, the yellow-blue squad heads to the Marche region looking to double their advantage and approach the second half of the series with a stronger chance of clinching the title.
Head coach Fabio Soli emphasized: “The result of the first match is already in the past; now we’re fully focused on the upcoming away game, knowing that the level of difficulty will rise not just with each match, but even with each set. Game 2 will be a real test, especially since Civitanova has been almost unbeatable at home this season and boasts top-level stats. We’ll need a solid performance, confirming and, where possible, improving on the good showing we had on Sunday.”
The team completed their preparations with a morning practice at ilT quotidiano Arena before departing for the Marche. Kamil Rychlicki, who left Game 1 during the first set due to lower back pain, will be available for the match.
BREAKING THE GAME 2 TABOO On Thursday night, Itas Trentino will have extra motivation: breaking the Game 2 curse. In previous Scudetto Finals appearances, Trentino has never won the second match. The record shows defeats in Game 2 three times in Piacenza (2-3 in 2008, 1-3 in 2009 and 2013), once in Modena (in four sets in 2015), and twice in Civitanova Marche (0-3 in 2017, 2-3 in 2023). Thursday’s match will also mark Trentino’s 50th game of the season (40 wins, 9 losses), their 1,094th official match, their 163rd Scudetto Playoff match (98 wins, 64 losses), and their 76th away playoff game (31 wins). At the Eurosuole Forum, Trentino has played 11 playoff matches, winning only twice: March 28, 2021 (tie-break) and April 14, 2022 (in straight sets).
EIGHTH MATCH ON MAY 1st Thursday will be the eighth time in the club’s 25-year history that Trentino Volley plays on Labor Day, May 1. Of the previous seven, Trentino has won six and lost just once: 2008: 3-0 home win vs. Piacenza;  2010: 3-1 win in Lodz vs. Bled; 2011: 3-0 home win vs. Modena; 2013: 3-0 home win vs. Piacenza; 2015: Home tie-break win vs. Perugia; 2021: Loss in Verona to Kedzierzyn-Kozle; 2023: 3-0 home win vs. Civitanova
THE OPPONENTS Cucine Lube Civitanova is ready to host Itas Trentino for the second time this season at the Eurosuole Forum, aiming to level the series and secure at least one more home game (which would be the last at home this season). Sunday’s away loss confirmed the importance of home court, and now Medei’s squad must do the same to avoid heading back to Trento on Sunday afternoon down 0-2. So far in these Playoffs, Civitanova has won two of four home matches (Game 3 of the quarterfinals vs. Milano and Game 4 of the semifinals vs. Perugia), but went undefeated at home during the regular season (11 out of 11)
THE BACKGROUND With 104 official matches already played, Cucine Lube is by far the most frequently faced opponent by Trentino Volley. The overall record favors the team from Marche, with a 56-48 advantage. However, in the current season, Trento has won three out of five matches, and more broadly, ten of the last fifteen encounters. The yellow-blue club has secured thirteen victories out of forty-six matches played away from home. However, only four of these wins were in games held at the Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova Marche, which has been the home of the red-and-whites since the closing part of the 2014/15 season. The only match played at the Eurosuole Forum this season favored the team from Marche, ending 3-1 on December 1st, with set scores of 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 25-23.
THE SERIES Itas Trentino leads the Finals series 1-0, which is played in a best-of-five format, thanks to their 3-1 victory at ilT quotidiano Arena on April 27, with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-21. Game 2 is scheduled for Thursday and could be the only match played in Marche if the yellow-blue team secures two more wins—this one and Game 3, set for Sunday, May 4, in Trento at 3:20 PM. However, if Cucine Lube wins one of the next two matches, Game 4 will be necessary and will take place once again at the Eurosuole Forum on Wednesday, May 7, at 8:30 PM.
THE REFEREES Dominga Lot (from Santa Lucia di Piave - Treviso) and Alessandro Cerra (from Bologna) have been designated to officiate, marking their fourth joint SuperLega match in their careers, and their second this season after Perugia-Trento (2-3) on January 12. Lot is officiating her fifteenth league match of the season, with four of these involving Trentino Volley: a 3-0 win over Milan on December 26, a 3-2 victory in Perugia on January 12, a 3-1 win against Civitanova on February 22, and a 3-2 triumph in Piacenza on April 13. She has officiated four previous matches between Trento and Civitanova, with three yellow-blue victories. Cerra, also in his fifteenth match of the 2024/25 league season, returns to Itas Trentino after overseeing their tie-break win against Perugia (January 12), a 1-3 loss in Civitanova (December 1), a four-set victory over Milan (October 13), two recent 3-0 home wins against Cisterna (February 19 and March 8), and a 3-2 win over Piacenza on April 6. He has already officiated three matches between Trento and Civitanova, with two victories in favor of Lube.
