First phases of Champions League and Superlega between Wednesday and Sunday: yellow-blues aiming for two victories

Diatec Trentino (ph. Trabalza)
A crucial week for the future of Diatec Trentino during this season started today, with an afternoon training session divided among weights and technique at PalaTrento. In the next six days the yellow-blues will face two important matches, which could change in a decisive way their run in the last two tournaments in which Trentino Volley will play.
On Wednesday February 28th Angelo Lorenzetti’s team will play at PalaTrento versus the Belgians of Noliko Maaseik for the last turn of Pool E of 2018 CEV Champions League (8.30 p.m.). Lanza and his teammates, who are already sure about their qualification to the Play Offs 12, in the worst case as best third in ranking in the five rounds of the Main Phase, will aim for a victory (with every possible result) which could guarantee them the second place in ranking (the first place if Zaksa will lose the home match versus Izmir) offering them an easier draw for the next knock-off round.
Trento is in fact still playing to be the second best qualified team in the five pools, a ranking place that could in fact allow the yellow-blues to get an easier draw on March 2nd in the CEV Luxemburgish urn.
On Sunday March 4th Diatec Trentino will play its last regular season match of SuperLega 2017/18 at Candy Arena of Monza to face a Gi Group Monza which is already out of the Play Off run. Also in this case a victory with every possible result will guarantee the fourth place in ranking and the possibility to play two of three quarter-finals matches at PalaTrento versus Verona (opponent already chosen during the first turn of the board).
The yellow-blue team comes to this double date luckily without particular roster problems; the three-set victory on Sunday night versus Sora allowed Trentino Volley to obtain the sixteenth victory in the last eighteen championship matches and to show an attack phase which reached high percentages (58% team statistics) with Kovacevic (72%), Eder (80%) and Vettori (81%) on fire, and is the best one of the 25th turn.
