PalaTrento resisted the assault from Calzedonia Verona in the 25th Adige derby. After the previous weekend’s defeat in Molfetta, ENERGY T.I. Diatec Trentino got back on track on with an authoritative 3-0 against the championship’s most in-form team; a prestigious win in the way it was obtained and which confirms their rightful place in the championship and avenges the heavy defeat when these teams last met.
The televised Saturday night game of the 17th round of the SuperLega UnipolSai provided the best possible answer to those who believed the yellow and blues might struggle. Trento dominated the match from start to finish, with a great team performance in every area (11 blocks, 6 aces, 58% in attack) and individual players also played a key role.  An inspired Zygadlo always found efficient outlets in Nemec (16 points of which four blocks and two aces and 67% at the net) and Kaziyski (best scorer, 18 points), and was able to count on an inspired Solé not only in the quick (80%) but also at the block (6 direct points always at important points of the game). In this way Stoytchev’s team was easily able to absorb the below-par performance from Lanza in attack (39%). Verona tried to deal with the rhythm of the home team for the first two sets but then collapsed, weakened by Sander’s limited contributions due to having been struck down by flu and the difficulties faced by Gasparini and Deroo in attack.
