Thessaloniki (Greece), November 18th, 2015
By the Aegean Sea, Trentino Diatec collects a crucial but suffered success scoring 3-1, which allows them to proceed with maximum points for the Playoffs 12 of 2016 CEV Volleyball Champions DenizBank. After the great match offered three days earlier in Forlì, the Italian champions have been in fact able to win also against the greek field of Paok.
Getting the three points at stake, however, it was far from easy; in front of about 3,500 excited spectators (including the presence of a score of Yellow-blues supporters), the hosts did their best to try to dampen their home debut with a victory. Until the second technical time out of the third set, the impression was that they could do it also if Mitar Djuric (since that moment author of the provision very alternates) wasn’t the absolute protagonist, dragging the Italian champions to catch up (from 16 -19 to 22 to 19) and then to win the set that effectively decided the match. Subsequently the team of Stoytchev is indeed swept, erasing the difficulties and uncertainties encountered in the first part of the match, where the good things shown at the blocks were offset by moments of blackout in attack and block. The greek opposite, eventually the best Trentino scorer with 15 points at the block, was well backed by Antonov (14 with two blocks and two aces), Solé (13 winning balls with 82% and 4 blocks), Lanza but also by Daniele Mazzone, author of an excellent entry and good at muzzle Cepeda (16) and Jimenez (15) - fell to the distance after a great start
